2 Accelerator Pedal problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 11/29/2021

The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the exhaust module and the camshaft actuators needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, while driving at 60 mph, the warning message "reduced power" illuminated. The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, depressing the accelerator pedal the vehicle was slow to respond. The check engine warning indicator light was illuminated. The engine reduced power message was displayed. The vehicle was taken twice to the local dealer within two years who diagnosed the accelerator pedal sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however the failure recurred. 4 Accelerator Pedal problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 05/03/2011

2011 Chevrolet Equinox. Consumer writes in regards to defective vehicle operation and safety the consumer stated the vehicle was returned to the dealer three times, due to it running rough, loss of power, an overwhelming smell of gasoline, a sticky accelerator pedal and the check engine light illuminating. The dealer replaced the high pressure fuel pump, fuel rail pressure sensor and an attempted repair of the pcm and the reprogramming of the tac. The dealer has been unable to resolve the defects.

: the contact stated while driving at various speeds with the accelerator pedal depressed, the accelerator pedal did not return to the normal raised position but remained depressed. 6 Accelerator Pedal problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 06/21/2005

Uncontrolled acceleration, while passing another vehicle on the highway. In order to stop the accelerator vehicle had to be shut down. Owner was driving at 50 mph, and was trying to get to 65 mph in order pass another vehicle. When the vehicle was at 75 mph owner had to stop vehicle. The vehicle was at an undesired speed in the left lane. The owner still had control of the vehicle at this point. Owner called cheverolet to have vehicle checked.
