2 Wiper problem of the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 08/10/2026

My drivers side view mirror has been malfunctioning. Nearly ever time I get in my car the side mirror will randomly adjust to a different position, typically all the way up or all the way down. My safety is at risk as sometimes it adjusts and I forget, then when I go to merge on to a highway or even make an evasive driving maneuver the mirror is incorrectly positioned. While I try to adjust it before I get in the car, I should not have to do this every time. The vehicle has not been taken to a dealer yet as I am out of warranty and do not want to pay $250 for exploratory work. The vehicle has also not been inspected by any third party. There are no warning lamps and this change happened after a recent software update.

3 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 07/08/2026

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox ev suffers from a severe engineering design flaw in its front dashboard that creates a critical safety hazard. Under normal daylight driving conditions, the design of the dashboard surface produce an extreme, blinding glare across the inside of the windshield. This intense reflection completely obliterates the driver's forward line of sight. Because this visual obstruction occurs suddenly depending on the angle of the sun, it creates an immediate and dangerous crash hazard. It severely compromises the driver’s ability to see pedestrians, oncoming traffic, and road obstacles, making the vehicle unsafe to operate during sunny days. General motors is aware of this widespread visibility defect but has failed to issue a legitimate safety recall to fix the underlying engineering flaw. Instead, the manufacturer is offering aftermarket fabric dashboard mats to affected owners as a remedy. This band-aid solution is entirely unacceptable. These fabric mats ruin the aesthetic appearance of a brand-new vehicle, present long-term durability and cleanliness issues, and fail to address the root engineering defect. A temporary, cosmetic cover-up is not a substitute for a true safety remedy. The national highway traffic safety administration needs to open a formal investigation into this visibility hazard. The manufacturer must be compelled to issue a proper safety recall that provides a permanent, engineered solution to eliminate this hazardous windshield glare.

4 Wiper problem of the 2026 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 07/05/2026

The interior trim has many problems affecting safety. 1. Plastic chrome trim reflects blinding sun in my eyes. 2. Dash finish reflects severely onto the windshield, cannot see clearly. These are extreme safety issues. I believe gm should provide fix kits in a recall before someone is killed. And required design standards for this. Note: the camera lessens the glare in the attached pictures.

5 Wiper problem of the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 06/10/2026

My car was in clarksburg crown, Mitsubishi, and a lot that had no monitoring, and it was a sticker saying the car was not ready to be sold, and I still went with it trusting the crown Mitsubishi car associate however there are fuses added to my car weather from them or from car auto tunes in morgantown I’m not sure but my car has the ability to run without my foot on the gas or things happening to my to my acceleration.

7 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 04/16/2026

The Chevrolet Equinox ev has a large blind spot because of the size of the front window pillars and the adjacent side view mirror. To quote from an internet search, "this creates a significant blind spot when preparing to make left at intersections, making it difficult to spot pedestrians cyclists, or oncoming traffic. " my vehicle was involved in an accident during a left turn in which I believe the blind spot was a significant factor. The Chevrolet Equinox ev is supposed to be equipped with "enhanced automatic emergency braking" which, if so, did not function to prevent an accident.

8 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 04/01/2026

I was driving my car and a "service high voltage battery" message appeared on the screen and a message to reduce charging the car to 68%. The message coincided with the car having no cabin heat and no ability to defrost the windshield. The dealership says that the cabin heat and ac use the same cooling system as the battery and that any failure in the battery cooling system can cause a no heat/ac situation.

9 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 03/22/2026

Notice the windshield was cracked after leaving a restaurant!.

10 Wiper problem of the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox

11 Wiper problem of the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 02/15/2026

We are leasing a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox ev. We like the car, however there is a safety issue that has continually occurring. There is a very strong reflection on the windshield from the materials that make up the dashboard. It can occur in bright sun but also on bright cloudy days. I want to be clear, I am not being blinded by the sun in my eyes but rather the dash reflecting onto the windshield and obscuring my vision. I’ve had two close calls because of this. I mentioned it to the chevy service lady when I had an appointment and she said her boyfriend had exactly the same problem with his Equinox ev. He had to put a carpet piece on the dash to stop the obscuring reflection.

12 Wiper problem of the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 02/02/2026

Windshield wipers stoppped working while driving during snow event. Leaving no visibility.

13 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 01/14/2026

After taking a long drive, our phone suddenly stopped connecting via apple car play, all of a sudden the screen went black while we were doing 80 miles an hour on the highway using gps and then the phones wouldn’t connect again at all. Multiple attempted to restart the car and display did nothing. This has now become an intermittent error on the vehicle. I was told by a chevy dealership there was nothing they could do & I just needed to wait for an update to come out. Fast forward two months and countless hours of research I attempted to call onstar to have our connection reset to onstar because I saw that helped out. I found out our vehicle had not been connected for over 6 months while I was paying for the service and the telematics unit was likely the issue. 3 visits to the dealership, 3 modules later & the problem is still persistent. Gm will not cover my rental, will not give me a loaner vehicle and will not accommodate my schedule to have the 4th module attempted to be replaced. This is an extremely scary and frustrating concern. I fear for my safety when I’m on the road and my dashboard goes black for several minutes at highway speeds. The issue has been confirmed and is widespread in this model and should be recalled - gm should be forced into a lemon law for anyone who has had this many problems as most of us have.

14 Wiper problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 01/06/2026

Wipers have stopped working, have had it repaired twice and they keep quitting.

15 Wiper problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 01/06/2026

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while the windshield wiper was activated, the windshield wiper arms detached. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

16 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 01/05/2026

My vehicle has had recurring interior water intrusion and related safety concerns. The most serious symptom was interior window fogging on the inside of the vehicle for multiple days during or following rainy, snowy, and cold conditions, which significantly reduced visibility while driving and made it difficult to see out of the windshield and side windows. To clear the fogging quickly, I have had to turn off the heated seats and defrosters and open the windows; otherwise, I have needed to pull over and wait until I could safely see through the windshield again. A strong mildew odor would also develop and could last for days after rain. Sometimes the seats felt damp and the odor became worse when the heated seats were turned on. The first repair visit for this issue was January 13 to 19, 2026 and during that visit, the dealer was unable to recreate the issue. The problem continued, and after my navigation/infotainment screen began having issues, I returned the vehicle to the dealer again on March 7, 2026. I was then informed there was water intrusion and water-damaged carpeting, and I was told there was a known issue involving a faulty or broken seal on this model and there was a recall, but I have not been able to confirm that recall by VIN online. It remains unclear whether the leak is the full cause of the repeated interior fogging condition. In addition to the water intrusion issue, the vehicle has also had other electrical and safety-related concerns, including the infotainment screen turning white for weeks, abnormal turn-signal behavior after completing turns, lane-assist steering irregularities that pulled the vehicle toward the lane line, and braking irregularities, including the brakes locking up while backing into a parking space or during slow stop-and-go traffic. It is currently unknown whether moisture intrusion contributed to any of these other issues. My vehicle is still with the dealer for repairs until around April 15.

17 Wiper problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 12/26/2025

The wiper blade motor is gone out. The tire pressure sensor is off : the oil seems to disappear faster than the sensor.

18 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 12/21/2025

Twice, while driving in falling snow away from home, the front wipers did not work properly when switched to lo or hi. They behaved as if set to intermittent wiping. The intermittent wiper setting worked properly to adjust the wipe interval. But setting to lo or hi did not cause the wipers to go constantly. As far as I could tell, the arm pivot area was clear enough for them to wipe. The problem went away on its own without restarting the car. It happened again a few days later when parked in a driveway.

19 Wiper problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 12/19/2025

I am writing to formally document a series of catastrophic mechanical failures regarding the aforementioned vehicle. Despite rigorous maintenance and significant financial investment, the car remains non-drivable, posing a severe safety risk. Chronology of failures: October 2024: four months post-purchase, the timing chain failed on I-94. Atwater Chevrolet replaced the component; however, this did not resolve the underlying engine instability. December 3, 2025: following a dashboard warning light, a northland Chevrolet dealer replaced the solenoids. At this time, the windshield wiper motor also required replacement. Late December 2025: shortly after these repairs, the vehicle suffered a major failure of the rear main seal and engine block during sub-freezing temperatures. This caused a total loss of oil and left the driver stranded in hazardous conditions. Maintenance and disclosure: we have invested over $4,000 in preventative maintenance, including oil changes every 2,800 miles to mitigate known oil consumption issues. At the time of sale, there was no disclosure regarding the inherent engine defects common to this model. Current status: the vehicle is currently at a dealership and is inoperable. A $10,000 loan balance remains. Current diagnostics suggest a frost plug failure triggered the event. I have contacted gm regarding bulletin 14882, which addresses identical issues in similar models, but was informed it does not currently attach to this VIN. Furthermore, the extended warranty provider has denied the claim following an inspection, despite the documented manufacturing issues known to affect these engines for several years.

20 Wiper problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 11/28/2025

While driving with windshield wipers on, they suddenly stopped working. The wipers were stuck in position in the center of my windshield. Upon inspection, it appeared that one of the arms had become disconnected from the piece it was connected to. Snapped right off during unsafe driving conditions.

21 Wiper problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Equinox

22 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 11/03/2025

There is extreme glare from the black dashboard reflecting back up onto the windshield in partly sunny to sunny conditions. The glare effectively blocks my vision and I've now had two (2) instances, in parking lots, where pedestrians were near my vehicle and my vision was blocked - almost causing me to hit / run over these pedestrians. I've contacted gm and the dealer (loyalty Chevrolet williamsburg , va) for over three months trying to get this resolved. They contend they've issued a "safety fix" involving a new dash mat to reduce glare, but the parts are not available / on backorder.

23 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 11/02/2025

Got the Equinox brand new on March 2025. Few weeks later had to take it to service/dealer with backup camera problems and it had to be replaced. It started to have speakers issues due to a very loud humming sound while driving. Also window from drivers side runs slower than the rest of windows. The visibility through front glass is non existent when raining due to the angle. Transmition started slipping and started to have a check engine light pop up and had to take it to service again. . . And finally at the beggining of November had to take it to service due to a sudden battery drain. She wouldnt turn on for no reason. The defective module is on backorder with no estimated arrival date, leaving the vehicle unusable. Its been there for 2 months now. . . They provided a loaner. Everything has been confirmed by dealer. They said that had 3 pages of codes pop up to be fixed.

24 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 11/01/2025

Windshield glare is horrible. It can cause distortion of objects. It can cause dizziness. Especially on bright sunlight and when many lights from oncoming traffic reflect off the windshield. I have had to pull over a few times. The dashboard shininess is a real problem. The dealerships don’t want to order the free dash mat unless they “diagnose” it even though it is a known problem and they ignored my concerns when I went in to the dealership even though a free dash mat is offered by gm the fix for this in reality is a new dashboard that will end this problem but that is too expensive for gm. They all say to wear polarized glasses to help. Wrong. That’s like putting a bandaid over a gunshot wound. If they aren’t willing to fix this error I want them to buy me out cuz it’s not a small problem that could result in injury or death if not addressed. The 2026 models have a new dashboard that corrects the problem. This problem has caused me not feel safe and avoid driving sometimes and this is not acceptable to me.

25 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 10/29/2025

Visibility under certain conditions is very poor. Reflection on the windshield from the dash creates unsafe driving conditions. It is especially bad when driving into a dark area like a parking garage or car wash. Almost impossible to see other vehicles or people. Polarized, sunglasses, eliminates or reduces the reflection but they are not always within reach. This is not an isolated incident. It is a constant problem with the vehicle design.

26 Wiper problem of the 2026 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 10/25/2025

After I purchased my vehicle, 2026 chevy Equinox rs, I noticed severe distortion on the front windshield. I had it replaced once, with the same problem. They were going to put another windshield in but we wanted to see it first, which was worse than the first two. I do not like the feeling of being car sick. Also, the transmission slipped once, while driving. It felt like it went into neutral and then back into gear. The dealer looked at it and could not find anything wrong. It was good for a few weeks and then it did it again.

27 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 10/14/2025

When attempting to engage the left turn signal, the lever has to be pushed down several times to "catch or engage" and stay engaged. Frequently it won't stay engaged and turns off before the turn is completed. (the right turn signal works properly). This happens 8 out of 10 times on a consistent basis. The dealer shop supervisor and tech test drove it as well as another brand new lot vehicle and both did the same thing. They said that that's what they all do, and I should push down more firmly, which doesn't help. I'm in my late [xxx] , have driven new gm vehicles for decades and know how to use a turn signal. I have been in the middle of lh turns and the turn signal was not flashing to advise other drivers of my intent to turn. I believe that this is a significant and dangerous safety issue. I bought the vehicle new a little over a year ago and it currently has about 2500 miles on it. I am not sure when this started happening, but I started to notice it at about 1700 miles, 6 months ago when I started driving it regularly in place of my 2024 Chevrolet 1500 pickup. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

28 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 09/26/2025

The front dash reflects on the windshield to the point where it is impossible to see the roadway clearly while driving.

29 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 09/25/2025

The dashboard on my 2025 Chevrolet Equinox ev rs reflects strongly on the windshield, creating glare that severely reduces forward visibility in daylight. The reflection makes it difficult to see the road clearly and poses a serious safety hazard. I have taken the vehicle to the local dealers various times for this issue, and they acknowledge the problem but have not repaired it, saying they are waiting for a part. The visibility issue remains unresolved and appears to be a design defect that could affect other vehicles of the same model. It poses a serous risk of accident and injury to pedestrians.

30 Wiper problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 09/22/2025

When I was driving home from the grocery store a very heavy thunderstorm started I turned my wipers off because of the sudden rain just to realize that they were not working. I had to pull over because I couldn’t see. Causing me to almost get rear ended with my 6 month old, 18 month old and 6 year old I was finally able to start driving 45 minutes later when the rain stopped. This was a very dangerous incident that happened that could have ended in a car catch.

31 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 09/17/2025

The dash grill pattern totally blinds the driver because the sun casts a reflection or glare of this dash pattern on the entire windshield. I have come close to hitting a child in residential that was riding his bike that I didn't see because of the reflection that blinded me. Luckily, I was traveling slow enough he moved in time. I didn't see him until the side window after he moved and I drove past.

32 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 09/10/2025

The dashboard causes a serious glare that prevents visibility. Gm has only offered a cheap dash mat as a fix and my local dealer says they don’t know anything about it. They should really replace the dash pad with the updated model and not just lay a piece of cheap carpet over the dashboard of my 50k dollar car. The attached photo dosent even do the problem justice. Due to the way camera lenses work it looks less severe in photos.

33 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 09/10/2025

The dashboard has lines on it that causes significant glare during the day and in sunlight. It is difficult to see out the windshield when driving or to see pedestrians.

34 Wiper problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 09/02/2025

As reported by many before, the glare off the dashboard is a safety issue, disrupting visibility and potentially causing collisions with unseen objects. The TSB #25-na-069 relating to this issue was installed on my car, but the cabin now looks cheap, reducing the overall value of the car. The pad that was installed cannot be considered permanent, since it is easily removed by the owner. The 2026 model has redesigned the dashboard so the glare problem has been remedied.

35 Wiper problem of the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox

Failure Date: 09/01/2025

The 2 problems that I am reporting are visibility issues. There are situations when it is very difficult to see out of this car. When bright sunshine comes through the windshield it reflects off of the dashboard making it almost impossible to see out. Pedestrians are very difficult to see and it's very dangerous to continue driving. The second problem is that the driver and passenger side windows are deeply tinted. I thought that this is illegal. At night the windows are so dark that you cannot see autos or pedestrians in intersections. I find that I have to roll down the windows so that I can safely see before proceeding through the intersection. I'm not sure what I'm going to do in the winter or a driving rainstorm. I have found that wearing polarized sunglasses helps with the windshield problem but only replacing the side windows will the tinted window problem be fixed.
