Can't see out of the front windshield due to extreme glare from the dash design.
Under certain situations related the angle of the sun and at night oncoming headlights, the dashboard is reflected onto the windshield. When traveling through shaded areas where the sun is blocked and unblocked the reflection on the windshield flickers. The dashboard reflection is so excessive it makes it hard to see and causes eye strain.
There is a very dangerous glare-reflection of the dashboard on the windshield whenever it is sunny. It is difficult seeing pedestrians, bicyclists and oncoming cars. We have had this car for a few days.
The reflection of the dash design onto the windshield is a major hazard and can at times entirely obscure visibility of the roadway ahead.
Front wipers stop working in the middle of a rain storm while driving down the highway we were unable to see anything(road/cars)out of the window. We had to put on flashers and stick head out of a rolled down window to (which with rain slapping you in the face is not safe either) try and get to a shoulder on the highway safely. My hubby and I were terrified and thought we were going to die or cause harm to others on the highway. After rain slowed down we got home very slowly with hazard light running. Once home I searched the web for problems that could have caused the wipers to suddenly stop. Results were to check fuses and relays (all checked out fine). I read that it could be a bushing on linkage arm that came off. Husband and I took off wipers and the cowl and sure enough linkage arm bushing had popped off of the ball joint. We tried to replace old bushing with a new one and put everything back together as it was taken off. Turned on wipers and it popped right back off. My car is now sitting in the yard unusable because I can not safely (for my family or other families out there) go any where because it is raining/will rain. There were no warnings or messages nothing they just stopped moving. One of the most scariest things in our lives, so glad our kids and grandson was not with us when it happened and that by the grace of god my husband and I made it home safely. This is very dangerous. It is also not uncommon due to information/videos on the internet. Please help correct this dangerous issue. Car is available for inspection any time thank you.

Issue description: while driving during daylight hours, especially when the sun is positioned at a certain angle, I have observed an intense reflection from the dashboard onto the inside of the windshield. This reflection is bright and widespread, directly obstructing my field of vision and making it difficult to see the road ahead clearly. The glare is particularly noticeable on clear or sunny days and significantly increases the risk of an accident. This visibility issue appears to be related to the dashboard material and design, which may not adequately diffuse or absorb sunlight. I believe this condition may affect other drivers as well, potentially leading to widespread safety concerns. I respectfully urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter and consider whether this condition warrants further examination or manufacturer guidance to reduce the risk associated with glare-induced visibility loss. Please let me know if any further information or documentation (such as photographs or video recordings) would be helpful in reviewing this issue. Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your continued efforts in promoting road safety. Sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The glare from the dashboard into the windshield blocked my view almost completely when driving on the san francisco International airport ramp, especially when the car was on a downhill ramp. I could not see anything in front of me for a couple seconds. This could have led to an accident should the car infront of me had breaked and stopped. The glare is also visible in normal driving conditions on sunny days and can distract my attention from the road.
Very very bad dash glare will driving vehicle.
The harsh angle of the windshield and the semi-reflective nature of the dash leads to extreme reflections during sunny conditions. This is a safety hazard that can lead to dangerous situations due to the grey/white blocks and stripes in the drivers vision. This is a widely documented issue with Equinox evs 2024 and beyond.
Windshield has heavy glare being reflected from sunlight hitting the dashboard. Almost looks like the entire windshield has a heads up display activated, except it's useless and just my dashboard. This significantly impacts visibility.
We love the car and would buy it again - but - it has one significant problem which is in-fact a safety problem. Anytime the sun is shining on the dashboard there is a major reflection on the windshield. See the attached photo which was made as we were pulling into the garage. It was 12:41 pm edt on July 17th, about a half hour before solar noon. The car is pointed at approximately 85 degrees (almost due east) and the sun is about 90 degrees to our right. This is a extreme case of the reflection because the garage is darker than ambient. It is almost impossible to view where we are going. But the excessive reflection is always there when the sun is shining on the dash. It is my opinion that the car need some sort of anti reflective surface. There is severe glare across the entire windshield, caused by the highly reflective surface of the dashboard. This is making it hard to identify small and medium objects in the road such as small cars, bicyclists, pedestrians and street signs. I have noticed my visibility and reaction time is significantly impaired despite staying focused and attentive to my surroundings. It is always reproducible on sunny and partly sunny days; it is often reproducible on cloudy and overcast days. The dash is available for inspection. I've notified the dealership and am awaiting their response. There is no other way to know the problem exists until driving in sunny conditions which was first noticed one day after receiving the car from the dealership.
The relection of the dashboard on to the inside of the windshield is so bad sometimes your vision is obscured.
Glare from the dash is distracting and unsafe. I do not have a clear view thru the windshield as the image of the dash is seen in the glass. This should be addressed immediately.
The windshield has a horrible glare on it when exposed to the sun. It makes seeing out the windshield very difficult and can lead to not visually seeing other vehicles, pedestrians, etc. This needs to be fixed by the manufacturer. The problem has not been reproduced or inspected by any independent service or others, yet is a very well know issue on various forums about this vehicle.
While driving on the highway, it was barely raining so I turned my wipers on low and about 5 minutes into my drive the rain picked up, and I tried to turn my wipers up at which point the stopped working altogether. I had to pull off on the shoulder and wait for the rain to end, which was about 20 minutes later. Afterwards I proceeded to the nearest gas station and purchased a squeegee to use while I was driving since cars were kicking up rain from the wet ground. Having wipers abruptly stop while it is raining heavily and traveling at 55 mph is beyond dangerous. I see all of the complaints online and a recall should and needs to be issued, as this issue could have and still can caused a tragic accident.
There is a massive glare that comes up from the dashboard during the daytime. This is widely reported and widely complained about and feels incredibly dangerous, so there are countless pictures showing it. In bright light conditions, it literally makes seeing out the windshield almost impossible without really focusing to look past it. It's honestly amazing this was even allowed to be put into production in the first place.
The dashboard design produces a glare that is visible under almost all lighting conditions. The glare is very distracting and can make it difficult to see in some situations.
The glare that reflects from the dashboard onto the windshield distorts and obstructs the driver’s view of the road. It can render important hazards invisible to the driver. Very dangerous situation!!.
Visibility is impacted due to the glare on the windshield from the dashboard sun reflection. Driver visibility is impaired enough to dangerous levels during based on sun reflection angles throughout the day. Traffic lights and lane markers may not be clear due to glare. Seems like many owners are having this problem only. Aftermarket dash mats are available to correct this issue, but it is not a certified product by the manufacturer. Elderly owners may not even be aware of any corrective measures.
Component- windshield wipers available for inspection-yes how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I was driving in light rain at first, turned on the windshield wipers on low. Slowed for a service vehicle and the rain became heavy so I moved the selector to high on the second or third pass across the windshield they quit, I could not see anything. I had to roll down my window and stick my head out to see so I could get off the road. I had to wait for the rain to stop before I could move. I first checked the fuses, it was fine. I can hear the wiper motor working. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? not yet has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no got the car home before the next rain were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no absolutely no warning.
The glare on the windshield and side mirrors from the dashboard/vents is unsafe. When driving during the day, I’m unable to clearly see out of windshield and side mirrors, views heavily obstructed by the glare off the interior surfaces of my car. Tinting the windows hasn’t helped the situation at all. Driving with the windows down, helps with the wide mirrors but the windshield glare is so fucked. I wouldn’t have bought this damn car if I test drive it during the day. How does this pass inspection? these cars shouldn’t be on the road in their current state.
Bad glare from the front shiny plastic dash section onto the windshield during sunny days. It makes it hard to see and is a hazard.
Faulty windshield. Replaced with two additional windshields (1gm, 1 aftermarket) which were both defective. All Chevrolet and Cadillac vehicles on the lot had defective (warped) windshields. These windshields distort images, cause dizziness and motion sickness. The dealer purchased the vehicle back.
Sun glare from the front windshield makes the visibility low, you see the full reflection of the dashboard of the vehicle, including the reflective silver lining of the infotainment system to the window where the glare from that particular part bounces back to the drivers eye.
Saturday it was very bright and the sun reflected off the dashboard in this car and put an image of the dash board on the windshield obstructing my vision. It was very hard to see and a pedestrian seemed to pop out nowhere while driving in parking lot. I was either distracted by image of dashboard on windshield or it obstructed view by it either way it prevented me from seing the pedestrian clearly because theres an image of dashboard on the windshield. This seems very dangerous, this is my wife's car and I would hate for her to have to live with killing someone because of reflective dashboard. Hope there is something you can do as its gets bad when your driving down road at 70mph and can barley see out windshield all sudden but it was the close call with the pedestrian that finally motivated me to find someone that could possibly do something about it.
At certain sun angles and times of day, the reflection from the dashboard onto the windshield is so strong that it makes it hard to see the road well enough to drive safely.
Driver side mirror changes position at start of vehicle for no reason. This makes for a very dangerous situation while driving as nitro has moved and is showing other than where it was set at.

While driving my 2024 chevy Equinox ev, intense glare reflects off the dashboard and windshield under certain lighting conditions, especially in sunlight. This glare creates severe visibility issues, at times completely blinding the driver and making it unsafe to operate the vehicle. The issue poses a significant safety risk not only to me but to other drivers and pedestrians. The problem is consistent and reproducible, but no warning messages or indicators are shown. I have not yet had it formally inspected by the manufacturer or dealer, but the issue appears to be a design flaw affecting visibility. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
There is a design flaw regarding the dashboard reflecting into the windshield. This is probably due to at least one of the following factors: a) the material and reflectivity of the dashboard b) the low angle of the windshield itself. The sun causes a reflection in the windshield that renders the driver functionally blind when driving into the sun at certain angles, and in particular moving from light to shadow. It is highly dangerous and disconcerting.
There is significant reflection of the dashboard onto the windshield, especially in sunlight, that often makes it almost impossible to see adequately out the window. I have had to buy a dash mat to cover the top of the dashboard, which helps, but the parts not covered still reflect. The dash material is a black plastic that reflects too much. This is a serious design flaw in my opinion. I believe Chevrolet should be required to replace this piece with a better design.
Significant reflection from dashboard on front glass in sunlight which severely restricts forward visibility in certain conditions appears to affect a lot of other drivers too as documented online and with companies selling diy fixes.
The windshield has a defect on the right hand side. It seems like blurry waves. I noticed it because I got nervous thinking that there were cars riding next to me very close but it is just a glare from the defect.
There is intense glare off the dashboard, impairing visibility.
