Windshield glare from ribbed dashboard reflection under sunlight is distracting and often obstructs visibility so severely that it’s impossible to drive safely without wearing polarized sunglasses or placing a dark colored dash mat. This is a safety issue and so far gm has not done anything about it.
Equinox 2 ev 2024 dashboard has a pattern that reflects in the sun onto the front window making it extremely difficult to see out the window. Happens all the time.

Michigan vehicle 2000 miles. Vehicle is totally stock. #1 the dash is reflecting on to the windshield more than I've ever seen on any other vehicle. It's really starting to constantly take my focus off what is happening in front of me. #2 other issue is the blind spot warning system. Most michigan u-turns are single lanes that turn into two as you're turning in the u. The system is constantly beeping at me for cars that are in the inside lane for no apparent reason. Both issues are very distracting and taking my concentration off the road.
I recently purchased a 2025 Equinox ev lt1 vehicle. Overall, the vehicle is performing well and has a number of safety features that are helpful when driving. As others have also reported, the windshield glare on this vehicle is a weak spot, and without polarized sunglasses, the glare is often severe and distracting. At night, the use of sunglasses is of course not feasible, and occasional glare from headlights and streetlights can compromise the driver's ability to view the road and surroundings. Aftermarket dash covers are available, and that may be what I have to resort to to address the problem until/unless a recall or remedy is available from gm directly. This may seem more like an annoyance than a significant safety issue, but when you are unable to clearly view the environment around you when driving, it is a real problem.
Glaring issue. High voltage battery keeps popping up error.
Due to the design of the dash there is a horrible glare on the windshield and it makes it very difficult to see out of the front windshield. This needs to be addressed immediately as it very distracting and can lead to an accident due to lack of visibility on sunny days.
Dash design makes windshield visibility very poor, especially in conditions where it is sunny. This is very dangerous on a typical day and even more dangerous when the sun is fully shining. After experiencing this, I googled and found numerous chevy Equinox ev owners mention this problem. There should be a review of this and fix offered by gm.
The dashboard of this vehicle has a texture which results in a high degree of reflection onto the windshield, and this glare can impair visibility at times.
Dash glare on windshield is severe. I cannot believe there isn't a recall on it.
Driving into sun, very strong glare off the dashboard that is lined (not solid), so visibility is highly reduced. Nearly crashed into a pedestrian in a crosswalk because they were not visible through the windshield.
There is a glare in the windshield from the dash. During the day when the sun hits it I have a hard time seeing pedestrians, bicyclists and small animals. Any smaller (less than an average car) sized things are distorted and hard to see. I’ve tried using the visor and it doesn’t help. I’m worried it may cause me to injure somebody or some thing.
The vehicle's front dashboard has an intense glare that reflects onto the front window at certain times of day/brightness levels. It is a visual hazard that makes it so I can't see straight ahead at certain times.
There is a horrible glare on the windshield during sunny conditions that reflects the slatted dash lines onto the windshield. It is incredibly hard to see during certain times of the day.
The dash in my Equinox causes a glare on the windshield that interferes with visibility. It is very hard to see when the glare is present. The glare happens in bright sunshine and also at night due to street lights.
Sunlight hits the dashboard and reflects a glare onto the windshield that partially blocks view of the road. The dashboard reflection is enough that it can be difficult to see traffic, people cross the road, etc.
The dashboard on the vehicle reflects on the windshield terribly, making the visibility very poor in certain conditions. This can occur when it's sunny, when there are streetlights, sometimes when it's raining, etc.
My 2025 Equinox ev suffers the same issue many others have reported, unsafe glare from the shiny plastic dash piece. It happens during sunup and at night with street lights. This glare creates a danger that easily avoidable with either a different type of windshield or a replacement dash part that is matte finished to stop the glare. Gm has failed to address this issue for 2 model years, please investigate this issue for a valid solution. Thank you.
The obstruction to vision caused by the a pillar and glare on the windshield from the dash has caused near collisions while driving.
Windshield glare creates a visible obstruction, resulting in compromised safety.
When driving in direct sunlight the dashboard glare is dangerous and prevents full visibility out of the windshield.
While driving my 2025 Chevrolet Equinox, both the digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen suddenly turned off without warning. This blackout lasted for several seconds before both systems rebooted and returned to normal. This has happened multiple times and does not seem related to any specific driving condition, speed, or weather. The vehicle itself continues to operate normally during the blackout, but the sudden loss of all visual information — including speed, alerts, and navigation — poses a serious safety risk. No warning lights or error messages appeared before or during the incident. This issue started shortly after receiving an over-the-air software update labeled gm n25-f172ae. The problem has not yet been confirmed or resolved by a dealer, and the vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance.
The wipers quit working while I was driving in a thunderstorm. Safety was definitely a risk as I was on a major highway. I pulled over and waited for rain to stop and made it to an auto parts store to replace fuse. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the issue. The recall does not include 2016 Equinox. I don’t understand why it’s not included.

It is difficult to see out of the windshield when the sun in shining. The material the dash is made of makes an awful reflection on the windshield.
Chevy Equinox ev dash design is bad. The current grooves on the dash cause significant glare on the windshield reducing the visibility and causing safety issues when driving. This is a problem not only for the driver of the car but other vehicles too because of visibility and unsafe driving conditions.
I was driving my car like usual and I almost reached home and my windshield vipers stopped working. I parked my car and checked it and the wipers are not working.

There is a glare from the dashboard that is very visible in the windshield. It obscures visibility through the windshield. This is a brand new vehicle.
1. Windshield has distortion on passenger side. 2. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Distortion in windshield causes blurriness to driver and could cause a collision/accident due to driver having visual restrictions. 3. Vehicle was taken to dealer and dealer confirmed the distortion, contacted gm, who also confirmed distortion. 4. Vehicle has been inspected by ourisman Chevrolet of rockville, MD. They sent videos/pictures to gm and gm acknowledged distortion/defect in windshield. 5. The car was on show room floor and not test driven prior to purchase. Purchaser/owner did not notice until following day during daylight hours.
The wipers stopped working during a rain snow mix. My brother looked up der the shroud and the motor and assembly are all working fine. But the bushing or housing that keeps the arm in place has corroded and there are barely no threads left to them. This was said to be a problem with the 2015 Equinox as well. He tried to put a new nut in to fix the problem. But that only worked for a little while. Now it is no longer holding and it's going to be an awfully snowy few days starting tonight.
I bought the vehicle new and the next day, I noticed a distortion on the passenger and drivers side windshield. When I drive it makes me nauseous and dizzy. I took it to the dealership and they said the windshield is on backorder. It is not safe to drive!.
I purchased my 2025 chevy Equinox in January of 25. In March I noticed some distortion on the passenger side of my window while making a right turn. I have had the windshield replaced twice by chevy/gm. Both replacements have the same issue. The dealership pulled up a new 25 or 26 Equinox to find it has the same issue. The local chevy/gm rep claims, even without seeing my vehicle, that this is with tolerances/spec. This is a safety issue as it distorts my vision.
Glare from the sun on the dash causes blindness and unable to safely see out of the windshield. It's a safety hazard to operate and unsafe for anyone else on he road when the sun hits it. Test drove and bought the car on a cloudy day and the first time the sun hit my dash I nearly rear ended the car in front of me. Emergency braking system activated to avoid a collision due to me not being able to see the brake lights in front of me even though I was wearing sunglasses.
If the sun hits the windshield just right, the reflected glare from dash on the windshield makes it dangerously difficult to see the road. Sometimes it is so blinding that I have to slow down well below the speed limit which is also dangerous.
The glare from the front dashboard significantly impairs visibly in the day time and some conditions at night.
During a snow storm the windshield wipers quit working. After troubleshooting, the short wiper linkage arm was disconnected. This was due to the plastic bushing popped off the ball stud. This part does not have a clip for retention. The replacement plastic bushing is extremely difficult to install without a press. 2 bushings were broken trying to preform a quality repair. A safe repair requires a replacement linkage assembly [$100 +] to complete the repair with confidence minimizing chance of a repeated repair.
My drivers side wiper blade stopped working while the passenger side is still working. I saw a recall for this linkage on the site but it’s not for my specific VIN. Additionally, my catalytic converter has damage due to excessive oil consumption. Halfway through my regular oil changes the oil is almost completely empty. Again, there’s a recall on this for my specific make, model and year but not for my VIN. I feel these should be covered to be fixed by manufacture due to symptoms equivalent to recall.
