One problem related to air bag has been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Express. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle air bag didn't deploy when I crashed into another vehicle doing between 30-40 mph. Impact was mainly on the driver side front end. I was driving an chevy 1999 Express 1500 van.
