Catalytic Convertor problems of the 1999 Chevrolet Express

Two problems related to catalytic convertor have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Express. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Catalytic Convertor problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2002

The catalytic converter failed. This was the converter placed in this vehicle. The consumer was test driving when he felt a sluggishness and heard a rattling noise which occurred upon acceleration and in the exhaust. After the vehicle was repaired, the consumer felt the same problem(s) again. The dealer stated that the part was defective. The consumer had taken the vehicle to two other dealers and was told that the converter was never changed, only the doughnuts were replaced. The converter was replaced by larry h. Miller. Also, the brakes had become inoperative and were replaced. Scc.

2 Catalytic Convertor problem

Failure Date: 09/05/2000

The catalytic converter was replaced at 27831 on 5/4/01; at 40373 on 10/26/01 and it is again bad as of this contact.
