I have a fleet of 2011-2015 Chevrolet Express diesel cargo vans for my business. Each of them are on their 3rd replacement of the def tank heater kit gm p/n 84412924. It seems to die after use in the 80,000 mile range. Seems to be a poorly designed part having to do this.

Serviced vehicle due to *check engine light. Ran rough, skipped misfiring. According to the repair bill we received from emerson auto dealers. It appears that the fuel system had corrosion throughout the fuel system and a hole on the top of the fuel tank! all of the fuel lines and injectors and tank had to be replaced. This is a very high risk of fire hazard. Contacted our dealership and was informed that our VIN # had no recalls regarding issues, only some had met the criteria for that year?! this is outrageous. What can be do to help with the cost of these repairs? thank you.

This is a c class RV by thor motor coach. The coach serial number is [xxx]. The vehicle would not take fuel. I bought it to two Chevrolet dealers who would not look at it because it had a motorhome body. One dealer hooked it up to a fault finder and found there was a fuel venting problem. They said it looked like the motor coach manufacturer had changed the fuel venting system and moved the tank. I finally was serviced, under warranty, by an RV dealer in tulsa oklahoma. They told me the fuel tank had been moved which caused a kink in the fuel filler hose to the tank. They told me this was solved by cutting a section of the fuel filler hose to make it shorter and eliminating the kink. My concern is in a rollover accident will fuel now leak? this is a medium duty Chevrolet chassis so I don't really know if the same standards apply as do cars re. Fuel cutoff with rollover accidents or if I should report this to another agency? thank you. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Express (motorhome). While the vehicle was stationary, the fuel tank would not fill up when prompted. The vehicle was taken to dave arbogast Buick GMC in troy, ohio where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank neck was too small to gather the fuel into the tank. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.
