The consumer had come to a stop sign and attempted to turn left and did so with great difficulty. The consumer noticed that each turn had become more difficult and was accompanied by grinding noises. The consumer had the vehicle towed and it was discovered that the steering gear box had seized internally.

Failure Date: 01/01/2003

There is a knocking in the steering. Poor steering control. Dealer replaced steering gear 3 times and then was told by gen motors not to replace it again. The problem still exists. The vehicle is still in warranty. Presently at a standoff with gm. They won't fix, I won't pay.
