1 Instrument Panel problem of the 2010 Chevrolet HHR

Failure Date: 06/05/2012

While driving or parked I see the service air bag light come on. It has been going on and off. I haven't read where anyone else has been having this issue yet. But I have had the ignition stuck in the on position. I had to unplug the battery until the next morning. When I could go to the dealership. They fixed the car it was still under warranty at the time of incident. But now I am getting this service air bag light, when it does come on I can't see the mileage nor the temperature gauge. I want to know can this be fixed?.

3 Instrument Panel problem of the 2006 Chevrolet HHR

Failure Date: 09/03/2010

Turned on the ignition and the dashboard gauges all went out. Pulled the fuse and reinserted it - problem corrected. T/c indicator on instrument panel came on and the transmission was upshifting hard. Again, I removed and reinstalled the fuses and the problem went away. Power steering warning was displayed on the dash and the power steering was disabled. I removed and reinstalled the fuse associated with the power steering and the problem went away. I did notice that most of the fuses were mildly oxidized on one leg of each fuse.

5 Instrument Panel problem of the 2006 Chevrolet HHR

Failure Date: 02/04/2010

To whom it may concern, I recently had repair work done on my wife's 2006 Hhr lt2. The problem we were having was that she would randomly lose power steering with a warning chime and a notification on the instrument panel. This would be temporarily resolved by restarting the vehicle. I wasted little time and had it tested at classic Chevrolet in sugar land,TX. They soon discovered that the power steering motor was faulty. I had them replace it. Now I've been a lifelong gm customer and I was very disappointed with this expense, not only was it a failure unassociated to neglect but it was also a very dangerous problem. This problem is also highly documented on the web by many other Hhr owners. After gm announced the recall of 1. 3mil vehicles with this problem. The Hhr was not listed yet but the chevy cobalt and pontiac g5 were. The Hhr shares the same power steering motor as the cobalt and g5. Gm part # 20763801. Jtekt north America is the producer of this motor. From what I discovered on the internet, gm has filed a lawsuit against jtekt in response to this issue. It is still unclear to me how gm has not included this model in there recall. I have recently been denied reimbursement by Chevrolet for my expenses.

8 Instrument Panel problem of the 2006 Chevrolet HHR

Failure Date: 08/15/2007

The outside temperature gauge consistently "sticky" or reads inaccurate outside temperature. Only after driving an average of 45mph for at least 3 or 4 minutes will the gauge update. Typical city driving never allows for the 45mph average and thus gauge continually sticks at the morning colder temperature. Only after 2 hours will the gauge update properly so if running errands less than 2 hours and not driving freeway the gauge never updates and sticks at the low morning temperature.

9 Instrument Panel problem of the 2007 Chevrolet HHR

Failure Date: 06/29/2007

The contact had to gain control of the steering wheel and pull it in the opposite direction in order to gain control of it. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer six times for diagnostic testing but the dealer offered no assistance. The contact stated that the manufacturer was involved in a legal dispute for excessive gear backlash which caused steering failures under certain conditions. The failure mileage was approximately 2,500. The current mileage was 7,870. Updated 07/19/10. The consumer stated the vehicle would pull to the right, the dash lights were out on occasion, and the brake pedal would travel to the floor when it was applied. Updated 10/08/10.

Failure Date: 06/15/2007

The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Hhr. At less than 25,000 miles, the brakes would occasionally roll when the brake pedal was depressed. The dealer stated that the rotors did not need to be replaced at that time, but advised the contact to keep an eye out. The instrument panel lights, which indicate how many miles the vehicle has or how much oil is remaining, illuminate on and off intermittently.
