Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings Problems of Chevrolet HHR

Rusty fuel lines. Corrosion occurs in every connection to underbody and back part where fuel lines are covered with heat resistant material. Rust is so big that fuel lines start leaking fuel excessively and very close to exhaust pipe(extremely hot) what may cause fire. First you smell fuel, then it starts dripping and finally you have a major leak and are unable to drive. It is a major problem that can stop your car in the middle of nowhere or can start a fire of fuel in the point that is very close to fuel tank what may cause major fire or explosion.

I have a 2007 chevy Hhr with 175,000 miles on it. Last summer I noticed a gas smell when I would shut the car off. I thought I over filled the tank and the excess went into the charcoal canister. Recently early Jan. 2020 the check engine light came on. So, I did on line research and people saying the gas cap was bad. I took it off and it looked fine. Check engine light was still on. So, I called the dealer to make an appt. They did a computer scan and code p0442 came up ( small evap. Leak) and they said my fuel lines had a lot of rust and could be leaking behind the wrap that separates the exhaust from the fuel line. I've seen on line there are many people having trouble not only with the Hhr but also but other chevy vehicles. Is there any way customers can get reimbursed to get this issue resolved. Took the car in 01/23/2020.

Fuel line leaking, near fuel tank under heat shield, between exhaust pipe and body part. The vehicle was parked. It appears that the exhaust had repeatedly smashed the fuel line, overtime.
