general problems of the 2007 Chevrolet Impala - part 1

I started for the first time in early June of having reduced engine power. At this time I get several warrning lights on dashboard. I get engine power is reduced, traction control and engine light. The car goes into limp mode. I replaced the accelerator pedal position sensor after the first event. Since this time I had it happen 4 more times. This situation can be dangerous if a car is behind me and I slow up real quick due to going into limp mode. I try to pull over where I can when this happens. Once I pull over for 10 minutes the car will resume like normal driving with just the engine light on. The next day the engine light usually leaves. It is hard to know when this will occur but it can be a dangerous situation to be in.

The car at lights act like it does not want to go which can cause a wreck.

Coolant crossover pipe gaskets rotted away and heat quit working leaving my wife and kids to freeze in the winter.

I was driving my 2007 chevy Impala in my neighborhood at 25 mph, and when I was getting ready to stop at a stop sign, the vehicle started to shake badly with the code "engine losing power. " luckily, I was able to pull over and turn the car off. Being 68 years old, I got extremely scared. I turned the car off and tried calling 2 of my children to help me. Not being able to get either one of them. I turned the car back on, and proceeded back home which was only about a half mile from my house. I called the previous owner, and she stated that had happened to her about 6 months prior. Now I am terrified to take it out on the main highway. The car only has 70,000 miles on it and had been garaged kept. Someone please help me regarding why this might have happened. Thank you very much.

I recently purchased a 2007 chevy Impala, 3 weeks after purchase while on the highway, the car suddenly slowed down to a crawl, a reduced engine light came on the dash, being as we were on the highway to suddenly only being able to go 20mph was very frightening!! I was able to get the car to the side and had to have it towed home. After searching this issue online I found thousands of complaints from people with the same issue with this same car. I find it strange there was not a recall for this due to it being a serious safety issue. After calling a chevy dealer, they told me all they could do is hook it up for diagnostic tests but it would cost 175. 00 just to do that. This vehicle is still parked and we are unable to drive it and still have no idea what's wrong with it. I'm very concerned about driving it again for fear of this happening again and us maybe not being as lucky next time!!!! serious issue with thousands of complaints online. Simply type in �reduced engine power� make model and year of car and many people have had this same issue!!!!.

Brand new batteries die without even driving. New batteries will die instantly.

I just recently had the engine power reduced notification come up on my car and power reduced a good amount. I got home as soon as I could and turned the vehicle off. Didn't come on the next day but while driving in town, 25-45 mph, I could feel a little of a pull time to time, saw that the rpm needle would jump time to time. I have also driven it on the interstate and it is just the same thing.

In December my car while driving, I experienced reduced engine power the speed immediately dropped without warning and the car cut off. I was stuck in the middle of highway traffic praying that we would not be hit when everyone is doing 70 mph. I have a problem with a chevy dealership not knowing what is wrong with they cars. Especially a car that is having this problem with so many of its car across the nation. This is a huge safety issue. I have been inconvenience since December as I have not been able to drive my car after having this issue and not feeling confident in $1,000 repair that the dealership themselves are not sure is going to fix the issue. I went to the dealership to get to the root of the problem in hopes of getting a solution and solid plan. I think that gm need to be held accountable for this issue and found a good solid solution to the problem and not guessing fixes to make money. We are talking about people lives are being put in danger. Like I felt mine was when you are in the middle line on a highway, where the speed limit is 70 mph and your car reduce power and then shut down.

Reduced engine power/ traction control warning/ gas line fuel leak. This car flashed a reduced engine power message while I was going 65 mph straight away on busy city (in houston) freeway and the traction control warning light came on. My car then immediately reduced speed and would not go beyond 40 mph. I was told that the gas line fuel leak has nothing to do with it but it seems very coincidental that this all happened in the same day. Gm is putting out a lot of trashy vehicles right now and this should definitely be a recall; especially when there are numerous valid complaints of the same issue. I'll never by gm/chevy again. I am going back to an imported brand.

While starting my car the vehicle began shaking and the engine light came on. There was also a message stating engine reduced power. This is not the first time I had this happen. Previously I had this occur and I took my car to get serviced. The mechanic at the repair shop tested for codes and it stated the throttle body. I had that replaced on to turn around and have the same problem two days later. I recently searched this issue online and noticed I'm not the only person with this issue. I called gm and the representative informed me that unfortunately there wasn't a recall on this issue. This is very unsafe and I'm afraid to drive this car. I travel a lot on the freeway and I would hate for the car to stop while driving with myself and children inside. This vehicle complaint really needs to be addressed before someone gets killed.

I was driving at 20 mph slowing to turn into my parking lot at work and suddenly the car jolted and the power decreased to maybe half. The car never completely shut off. I was able to coast into a parking spot at work when I tried to accelerate there was no power left at all. All I could do was coast, the car still never completely shut off. This was extremely scarey, I just thank god my 5 year old daughter was not with me at the time!!.

While driving the traction control light comes on as well at reduced engine power. It drops the speed of the car down to 40 mph or lower. It does not accelerate easily when coming to a complete stop. This can cause an accident as I have had several near misses. The light will go off if you turn the vehicle off for a few hours but does end up coming back on.

I have experienced many issues with my car. Shuts off when stopped/brake. Cranks right back up. Reduced engine power car has shut down starter bisabled. Low oil pressure light comes on and stays on. Traction control light comes on.

Wife was driving home and the engine power was reduced and service traction control came up on the dash display. Power was cut, left her driving at around 40mph I drove it today, July 1,2014, it did fine for about the first mile then service traction control, reduced engine power display came on again. I drove it 4 times today, seems that if the car sit for a few hours, it ran fine, full power, no issues for about the first mile to mile and a half then it would come up with the service tcs and reduced engine power which leaves you at very reduced speeds. Luckily I live in the country so traffic wasn't a huge issue. I researched online and this seems to be a common occurance with many yr model Impalas so I wanted to report mine so it would be on record as well. 2007 Impala lt2 with 3. 9l engine. Thanks.

My wife's daily driver is a 2007 Impala . She was driving home with our three kids when the car started shaking and the reduced engine power display came on. After that she could only go about 25mph. This scared her and could have caused an accident. I looked online and found forums about a lot of people having the same problem and it pisses me off that gm hasn't recalled these vehicles . Does someone have to die before this situation is taken care of?.
