1 Electrical Jack problem

Failure Date: 09/25/2014

The key is stuck in the ignition, this was at 10:15pm 9/25/14. The car was able to be turned off, I turned off the radio, lights, air and anything else I thought would kill the battery. I removed the key fob and locked my vehicle. I woke up this morning at 5am thinking the car wouldn't start but thankfully it did. I drove to work and now I am worried the battery will be dead when I return to it to go home. I called the dealership service department at jack winegardiner Chevrolet and they said the cause could be a dead battery, not so, I can start and drive the car just fine. When I asked what could be the cause, could it possibly be the recall 14299, he said no. I told him that I have done my research and this is an ongoing issue with these cars and he said unfortunately their is no recall for that MA'am and that I will be responsible for the repairs. Really, I had another issue with the card just a few days ago which I will report in another complaint. But in short the car had reduced power and traction was supposedly affected. Turned the car of and went in to work, went back to go home and it has been fine ever since. This car is becoming unreliable. I used to love my car, now, I don't think I will buy another chevy, ever!.

2 Electrical Jack problem

Failure Date: 05/12/2011

After parking a 2008 Impala on a flat concrete surface I took the lug nuts off the passenger side front tire . I then placed the jack (which had never been used before ever ) under the proper fitting points as shown in the manual behind the front wheel. And jacked the car up until the tire could be removed from the car. After the tire was completely off I was visually inspecting the the break pads but not touching it when the jack began to break off from the base. As I moved away to protect myself the jack completely broke away from the base and the car landed on the ground, broken jack and rotor . I then called aaa who took a 3 ton jack and inserted it under the front of the car and jacked it up enough to put the tire back on . Never in my life have I seen this happen before and I have changed the tires on many cars and trucks. I am taking it to the dealership tomorrow who will be inspecting my car and hopefully replacing the jack.

3 Electrical Jack problem

Failure Date: 06/16/2010

Scissor jack provided by manufacturer failed. While attempting to change a flat, the jack failed while wheel was removed causing car to drop to the ground. Jack use instructions reviewed an followed. Surface adequately flat and solid. Jack base ended up bent as did the scissor mechanism. Jack failure has potential for both injury and vehicle damage.
