Reduced engine power message. This message came up after have car at mechanics for a repair on actuator. We took back to mechanic and he cleared message however message has appeared after a week of driving car less than 10 miles per day. Mechanic said possible fix resulting in another $300 repair. The message came up while doing local driving around town less than 5 miles before it will appear.
Reduced engine power message, faulty back door locks, heating actuator repairs. This is a revised complaint to one I also made for just the reduced engine power message. After reading numerous complaints on here I have found that my car has several of the issues not just reduced engine power. I am most concerned with the car cutting out while driving due to the reduced engine power however we also have locks that don't open/lock with remote which has been going on for the last 3 years and since last winter heater only blows cold air until you accelerate the car. This month we had car repaired for a knocking noise coming from under glove box while car was running or shut off. Mechanic diagnosed as a new actuator and did repair. This however did not repair the blowing of cold air and also this is when the reduced engine power warning started. I am a former gmac employee and have had gm vehicles for the last 15 years. I am so disappointed that there are so many problems with this make/model and that gm has not issued a recall on these.
Vehicle stuck in park unable to shift from the parked position. Parked in front of my house went to go pick daughter up from school and couldn't shift gears.
While driving my car my car stalled as if it was in neutral. I stopped and tried to put the car in park, but nothing happened. I tried reverse and the car wouldn't move. It crakes up but there are no shifting of gears. I had to replace my gas tank as well as my pedals for this car. Please help.
My key is stuck in the ignition. I am forced to disconnect battery & hope that nobody goes looking through my car or attempts to steal it. My second complaint is knocking sound coming from my hvac. It will happen wether car is in or off.
Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that there was a random failure with the service stability link, service stability traction control and the service engine warning lights illuminating frequently and then there was a drastic reduction in speed with no warning. The contact had to pull the vehicle off the road each time the failure recurred, turn off the vehicle to reset the computer and restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop who was not able to replicate and diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and was to be taken to a dealer for inspection and diagnosis. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they provided no remedy. The approximate failure mileage was 128,000. Dyd.

The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Rear passenger door locks do not function electrically when the vehicle is warm. Automatic lock function when the vehicle is placed in 'drive' does not function under these circumstances. Due to the position of the manual lock releases, it is very difficult to manually unlock the rear doors manually. In an emergency situation, if the rear door locks do not function, it can delay escape from the vehicle.
I recently had a vent actuator fail; the sign was a loud clicking noise coming from the failed vent actuator located behind the glove box. According to the information that I have been able to gather, there are 4 vent actuators located behind the dash of the vehicle. These vent actuators seem to fail on a regular basis from complaints that I have been able to review on the internet. These are $25 parts, however the labor costs are ridiculous; $300-400 per vent actuator. If these vent actuators fail at random times, that is at a cost of up to $425 for each visit to the dealer, and there is no guarantee that they won't fail once again. Chevrolet is fully aware of the problem, according to their own web site. However, they continue to charge the owner of the vehicle these outrageous fees. I am seeking assistance in having Chevrolet replace all the vent actuators with a quality product; nothing like cheap chinese plastic. In addition, they need to quit passing the labor costs onto the owner for a problem that they refuse to address.
Came to get in and unlock car when I noticed only the front passenger door unlocks. Had to climb through the car (while 5 months pregnant) to unlock both backseat doors for my niece and infant nephew to get them in the car. The 3 locks, besides passenger front, only work maybe once a week randomly. I have my first child on the way in November, and now I have to worry if I will have to set my baby on the ground during winter to climb through the car to unlock the back door manually.
Driving on the highway during rush hour thru a construction zone my car gave me the engine power reduce then not even a mile down the road the starting disabled service throttle message came then the car stalled with no shoulder to pull over on. Sat for about maybe 5 min then made it home. Not it happens more frequent. Took to the gm dealer to get it diagnosed and they told me they couldn't find a problem with it. So basically spent 40 bucks to hang out at the dealership for them to tell me nothing. They even checked my VIN and no recall.
When changing temperature in vehicle, a loud clacking noise is heard for up to 2-3 minutes even if vehicle is turned off. Service air bag light and stablizer trac service light comes on. Oil leak under car. Only 55,000 miles. Can be heard 50 years away from car it is so loud. 2008 Chevrolet Impala lt.
Random clicking and ticking rather it's on or off.

While driving on the highway (60mph), without warning the car slows to 20mph and the check engine light comes on with an error message about the traction control. Extremely dangerous situation, but I was not rear-ended.
I started my car and the rpm's went to 0. Message stated "service traction control" and engine power reduced". When I looked up information online I noticed many people had the same problem with chevy/gm cars.

All door locks have stopped working. The doors will not lock or unlock with the remote or with the inside lock buttons on the interior door. Each door has to be manually locked and unlocked. When I purchased the car, when the transmission was placed in gear, the doors would automatically lock. The doors each have to be manually locked and unlocked. The only keyhole on the car is on the drivers door to unlock the car. There are numerous reports of this issue on the internet for the year models 2008 and 2009. The parts alone are $450 to $1,000. This is a major safety issue and should be a recall because: 1. The doors no longer automatically lock when the car is placed in gear. Automatic locks were most likely listed on the window sticker. 2. If a child is locked in the car, the door will not unlock with remote and can only be accessed from the drivers side door. 3. Not being able to access the driver and passenger door with the key is a safety issue to me. My car only has 45,100 miles on it and the locks have not worked in over two years.

I received notice of a safety recall #14299 from Chevrolet instructing me to call my local dealer and schedule a time to have the ignition repair. The local dealer, campbell Chevrolet in bowling green, ky told me they did not have the parts. The dealer instructed me to leave my name and telephone number and they would call when the parts came in. This call took place on November 13, 2014. I still have not heard anything from the dealer. I believe there has been more than enough time to get the parts needed and fix this problem. Meanwhile, I am still driving the car with this known risk. If this is the manner in which car manufacturers are allowed to state they are taking care of recalls it is no wonder more deaths are not avoided. If I attempt to trade the vehicle I am sure this will be an issue and most probably devalue my car. Is there other recourse a consumer can take to remedy this issue?.
