Tl- the contact owns a 2008 chevroelt Impala. The contact stated that the transmission gears were slow to change over and the gears were slipping and the failure was progressing. The vehicle was not inspected and diagnosed to determine the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they provided no remedy. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000. Dyd.
The transmission slips and will not allow the car to speed up when taking off from a dead stop. It will then suddenly rev up and take off or the wheels will spin. This has happened many times in a day and then be fine for a few days. It works fine if shifted manually. Very dangerous when crossing intersections and not knowing if there will be any power to accelerate. The sudden jerk is hard to deal with in the wisconsin slippery weather conditions. I have seen many complaints on the web for the same issue.
At a stop sign on signal, vehicle would not shift into 1st unless stepping hard on gas. Transmission would slip until engaging at higher rpm. This has happened on a number of occasions and has been taken to the dealer to be looked at. Dealer can't seem to replicate the issues I've had. Have had dealer service manager with me and it still would not to it. 10/1/2012. Doing the same thing. 83,000 miles. Gm and dealer aware of previous issues. Have not contacted dealer of gm this time. I give up.
I was at a stop sign, whne I went to pull onto the highway, the transmission slipped and hesitated! I took it to gm dealer and was told they could find no problem with it! it would acually have to go bad before they could do anything about it! now I have 68000 miles on it, and the problem happens daily! two days ago, when pulling on to the highway, it hesitated again, but this time there was a semi coming! luckily it finally took hold and I could procede! I saw on the internet, that this is a comman problem for this vehicle!! why, doesnt gm fix it?? also, I have had my car in for engine problems, they have removed the enginge from the car, and "decarboned the cylinder"! now about 30000 miles later it has the same problem again!.
