1 Air Conditioner problem

Failure Date: 12/23/2014

Recently I took my 2010 chevy Impala to be serviced for a loud ticking noise coming from the dash board by the air conditioner vents, by researching a little before I took it in to be serviced it was said to be a known problem for several years in these cars. I think this should be a recall. I explained that to him and he said because it is not a safety issue it is not considered for recall. I disagree the ticking comes out of know where it is loud and does not stop it could drive someone insane not to mention cause an accident because you are trying anything and everything to get it to stop . Sometimes it does but then starts right up again very stressful to say the least especially when it happens while you are driving. I feel that Chevrolet should have had this known actuator problem recalled and fixed several years ago when they knew and still know that it is a problem. In my oppinion it is a safety issue the loud ticking comes out of know where sometimes when you are driving it scares and startles you. It potentially can cause an accident. This has been going on for years I think cheverolet should be held reponsible for this defect and not make the consumer pay for their problem with this car that has been since atleast 2008 and is still not fixed .

3 Air Conditioner problem

The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Impala. While driving 10 mph, the air conditioner failed to activate. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle. After a few minutes, the air conditioning operated normally. The failure occurred twice. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 26,000.

4 Air Conditioner problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2014

It doesn't matter if the car is running or not the accuators to the air conditioner and heating unit start clicking and making a loud noise. After a few minutes it will stop. I went and had it checked by the dealership and was told it would cost between 500 and 600 dollars to fix. In any event I have talked to several people who own Impalas and they have had the same problem. My sister was one of those people. She had to take her car back twice before it was repaired correctly. Apparently the computer chip in these cars are defective. The clicking noise happens even when the car is sitting in the garage and it is storming outside. I feel this is a manufacturing problem and general motors should take care of the problem without any out of pocket money from the consumer. After all the taxpayers did bail you out.
