I started my vehicle in the morning to let it warm up. I come back out to get myself and my son in the vehicle to go to work and take him to school. My dash upon entry had a check engine light on, and the message it displayed was "engine power reduced. " I put my car into reverse, having no choice but to drive it and the traction control went out. My father in law pulled the code and it said something about the accelerator sensor. This is a known issue and recall in other models and I wanted to report it is also happening in my model.
There is a known issue with the shift lock release. The cable will fail in many 2006-2013 Impala's. The vehicle will not get out of park. Another well known issue is the blend door actuator. It is a noise that comes from the dash/heating/cooling due to chevy using cheap plastic parts.
Tl-the daughter called on behalf of the mother. The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated after the car was parked the key was unable to be removed from the ignition. The contact did contact the manufacturer who advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealership. The dealership indicated the shift processor caused the key to not be released from the ignition. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000. Bh.
I received a recall notice from a dealership and I checked the NHTSA website and it shows no recalls have been announced for my VIN number. I read an article on the ftc website that dealerships are being sued by sending fake recalls to people. This appears to be one of them.
When turning left the vehicle makes a grinding noise and the warning light to service stabilitrak, service traction control, and service abs come on. This is more noticeable at low speeds or when turning from a stopped position. The vehicle also shakes when accelerating or maintaining any sleek greater than 25mph. The shake is most noticeable between 45-60mph, and becomes less noticeable between 61-70mph.
Igntion startermakes the car not to start it will run the battery down and effects the starter and altenator.
My chevy Impala when in motion has signals for service stabilitrac, the check engine comes on and the a message that says reduced engine power shows up. It seems like alot of Impala owners are experiencing this and something should be done! the stabilitack goes off and the check engine ligts stays on but usually goes off, and then a few days later it will happen again.
According to your website there are four (4) recall items for this car lower control arm, seatbelt assemble anchorage passenger pressure sensor wires and ignition cut off. I have contracted ben mynatt Chevrolet dealership at 281 concord pkwy s, concord, nc 28027 regarding these recalls. According to ben mynatt Chevrolet these recalls do not assist. Please confirm. I also see that there are 313 complaints but 0 investigations.
I was driving and making a left turn and all of the sudden the car started shaking very hard. And it made like a zooming sound and all the power went out. The service traction control came up on the dash board. The motor icon started flashing. The brakes were not working properly and then it just stopped. Had to put it in neutral and push it to the side of the street. Thank god there was a parking space.
Wiper stopped working while driving on expressway on heavy rain there is no power from fuse to wiper have checked everything possible . Seatbelt sometimes doesnt lock on passenger side and sometimes it comes off on its own knocking noise in front dash board and it seems like there are too many problems with these chevy unbelievable but no recalls. Refuse to recommend chevy cars to anyone!.
Engine power dropped significantly on a two lane hwy. Traveling at 60 mph. Almost got rear ended and experienced road rage from driver behind me. Scary. I then noticed a service traction control warning, and engine speed reduction notice. Cruise control would not function. This warning will clear itself but continues to occur. I took it to my mechanic several times and they can not identify it even when the warning and condition is active. Veh. Mileage 126700.
Gear will not go out of park. This issue has happened on numerous occasions and the car has to be towed. This is not safe as there is no warning and this can occur at any given time or place.
My air bags keep making a loud noise every few minutes.
The vehicle was in motion about 45 miles an hr when it began to suddenly lose speed once it stopped I was able to coast it to the light. I cut the car off an it started back up. I didn't understand why it did that so I proceeded to find a near gas station. . It started to run again and I proceeded to go home when it did it again (lost speed while the engine was running) still don't know what the problem is had the alternator and battery checked and both are fine. . This was very dangerous!.
As I was driving on a state route, alerts appeared for "service traction control" and then "service stabilitrak" followed by "engine power reduced". The engine light also came on. I pulled over and shut the car off, waiting a few minutes before restarting. The messages stopped, but the engine light was still on. I drove a few more miles and approached the on-ramp to the interstate. As I accelerated to merge onto the interstate, the same alerts came back on in addition to "starting disabled, service throttle". Shortly thereafter, my car became completely disabled and shut down as I was on the interstate- the engine cut off, no power steering, no acceleration!! thankfully, I was able to safely pull off the side of the interstate. I had the vehicle towed and the car started right up and seems to run fine at the repair shop. Worried when and where it will happen again.
Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle the steering column had seized. The contact was unable to turn or remove the key from the ignition. The failure occurred multiple occasions. The vehicle was driven to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician was unable to find a failure however, they had removed the part and inspected it and put the part back together. The contact then stated that the vehicle was able to restart. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 53,000. Kc.
The transmission shifter lever is stuck in park and the key is stuck in the ignition switch due to a very poor electrical design. The electrical wires attached to the connector that operates the solenoid that unlocks the transmission shifter button in the park position and that also connects to the ignition switch and operates various functions such as releasing the ignition key and allows the vehicle electrical system to be completely turned off ,breaks off due to electrical wires being too short and the back and forth movement of the shifter . Checking the online blogs this is a known issue that has been happening on several gm vehicles for some time without any recalls despite constant customer complaints due to the very poor design. Some dealers have suggested leaving the key in the ignition switch and unlocking and locking the vehicle with the key fob. This invites vehicle theft and by not having the electrical system completely turned off, the battery runs down as the accessories and ignition is still turned on and the transmission lights on the instrument panel remains lighted. Some customers have had repeat reoccurrences after having the issue repaired at a cost of between $500 and $600. After inspecting the operation of the shifter and the affect it has on the electrical wiring it is obvious that the wiring will fail and in the blogs as early as whilst under warrantee. I am concerned if there are any other issues that may occur especially safety ones as there is 5 wires I do not know the function of each wire . Can you please investigate this issue.
On or about may 17, 2015, I received notice from the Chevrolet division of general motors that my vehicle "may have a broken solder connection within the accelerator pedal position (app) sensor. This condition may result in reduced engine power and loss of traction control assist. " according to them, I will know when my information center displays the warning and then they will be willing to correct their poor workmanship, but not until that time. Gm goes on to inform me that I may be without my car for an extended length of time while they order parts and do repairs. I don't see why I should be the one who will be inconvenienced for their lack of proper workmanship. Furthermore, I feel there is a safety issue here also. Gm needs to correct this problem before it causes needless harm to someone.
I own a 2010 Chevrolet Impala. I started my car and it was sputtering and knocking which it has never done before. The message on my computer dispay read " reduced engine power " and " serivice traction control" I turned it off and let it sit for a moment and then upon restarting everything was back to normal. I have notice that same message prior to today but only briefly but until today had not experienced the sputtering and knocking. Through research I see that this is a common problem and a dangerous one to have while driving. It sounds like a much needed recall is in order before someone ends up seriously injured or possibly dead.
Driving on highway when check engine light came on followed by alternating "service stabilitrak" "service traction control" "reduced engine power" messages. Additionally, while driving the transmission began to shift hard from first to second. By the time I got home and parked in the garage (approximately 3 miles from start of incident), the vehicle was making a loud clanging noise. Vehicle delivered to kool Chevrolet in grand rapids michigan on 11/4/14. They have had the vehicle since. The only thing they have found is that the computer indicates the codes went off while the car was parked. Otherwise, they cannot duplicate problem. I am worried about driving the vehicle and this incident happening again. I do a lot of highway driving and the sudden reduction in speed is a hazard and could lead to an accident.
On 8/15/14 we came out to the vehicle and it would not start. No power at all and the key would not come out of it. Left the vehicle sit overnight and same thing in the morning on 8/16/14. We called and got a jump from a tow truck and drove the vehicle home. While traveling home on the interstate (70 mph), my husband noticed that when he turned the driving lights on the vehicle shut off. (luckily he knew what to do and managed to not kill all of us in the vehicle and anyone around the vehicle; (2 adults and 2 children in vehicle;) he also noticed that when he signaled a lane switch the cruise control would turn itself off. We got the vehicle back to our house, waited 15 minutes and tried restarting and the battery was completely dead again. (no dome light, bells or anything when opening the door). Since then, he has tried putting a different battery in it and we get the same results. When we got home we did a google search and found several others that this same thing has happened too. Luckily no one has been killed from it but it is extremely scary when your vehicle turns off doing 70 mph. I would also like to inform you that there was no warning whatsoever that the battery was low or there were any electrical complications going on with the vehicle. There is no voltage meter anywhere on the vehicle. No warning lights came on either.
I received a safety recall from gm in August of 2014 for my ignition on a recall that had been out since July. They are going to fix the vehicle but the parts are not available. This is now the middle of September the parts still are not in and it will probably be the first part of October before they arrive according to gm. How can you recall a car for a safety issue and not have the parts to repair the car? apparently this is a serious issue or my notice would not say the key ring is carrying adds weight and the vehicle goes off road or experiences some jarring event, it may unintentionally move the key away from the "run" position. If this occurs, engine power, power steering and power braking will be affected, increasing the risk of a crash. If the ignition switch is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury or fatality. Gm is already had numerous problems and this is only increasing the risk of more. What can be done about this issue?.
Driving down busy hwy going 75 speed, engine power reduce message came on also traction control message, I been getting this message over a year in a half took it to a mechanic they couldn't seem to find anything wrong with it, since the message would go away after ten minutes or so I never taught was anything major till my car showed the message starter disabled service throttle came on basically letting me know my car was going to lock on me or something and with a few seconds my speed reduced more and I could not push d gas anymore I had to pull over to the side of the road in disbelief of what just happened and scared so I parked and turned off my car then I tried to turn it on and it wouldn't even start or make a starting noise the steering wheel was locked and I couldn't do anything, I waited at least ten minutes and I tried again and it turned on the message was gone but the check engine was still on. Trough the day this incident didn't happen anymore but I went on line and I see a lot of people with the same model car as me are having the same problem!.
On this day came out of work, started my car and started hearing a knocking, ticking noise coming from what appeared as the passenger side dash. I have yet to get it checked out but looking on the internet others describe it as the actuator. There were so many other Impala owners that experience the same, so I came on this site just knowing it would be some sort of recall but didn't find one. It amazes me that so many Impala owners have the same complaint and gm isn't fixing/ looking into the issue.
I was taking a right turn with my car and my leg bumped my key chain, which in turn caused the ignition to shut off. Thankfully I was able to pull over and re-start the car!.
I had to have an actuator replaced on my 2010 Chevrolet Impala. When I called other mechanic shop (including gm), was ininformed that this is a common issue with Impalas. I also had several coworkers with Impalas have the same issue. Considering this issue is so common in these vehicles, there should be a recall.
Car just stopped running we were able to coast to a stop on a 6 lane hwy going around st paul. I have written on here before telling of what happened. And how Chevrolet said its not a problem with your car. So I called back today and said I see its your problem now,so what do I do they say we have no fix yet, but take it in and let them see whats wrong. First its out of warrt. So I ll be paying for something I am sure ! second why recall if you cant fix it ???? scare you into buying a new one . Someone must have put some heat on them I was thinking it was you good job now get them to fix it'.
Traction control, stabiltrak system engine light comes on reduced engine power, this has happen a lot over the couple months.
Loss of power, service stabilitrac, service traction control started flashing. . . The car lost all power, shifted extremely hard and would only go about 5 to 10 miles per hour. I was on a main road with a lot of traffic when this happened, extremely dangerous situation. I took the vehicle to the gm dealer the first day, they could not find the code and the car ran fine on my way home from work. The next morning it did it again, took it back to the dealer and they had to replace the throttle body which costs almost $700. That was in February, I am now 400 miles from home and it is doing the exact same thing again. . . . Going to call a dealer today and hopefully it will be taken care of at no cost. I called gm about this issue and their response was that there is no recall on this VIN# at this time, yet I know there are recalls out due to the throttle body.
I was driving and my cars engine light came on 1st then the traction control light. When they came on it reduced power to my engine and quit on the interstate. I had looked up possible causes when I had a test ran it was showing throttle body I replaced it and it never fixed it upon reseach I have seen multiple people who owns Impalas from the years 2009 and up having the same issues and feel it is something that needs to be looked into. What I have found idk yet I am waiting on the piece to see if this is the issue or not is the pedal sensor could be the cause. But I feel it can be unsafe because my car had quit on a busy interstate with cars traveling at the speed of 65mph and higher. Just when I was looking it up I had saw so many other people having the same issues with their Impalas. Please look into it thank you . \.
When you crank it up it sounds loud. As you press the gas it has rattling noise underneath the car. Loss of power you have to press the pedal down to the floor just to get up some speed. Using tons of gas. Has smoke coming out of the tail pipe. Strong odor of gas and rotten eggs. The catalytic converter is completely rusted out underneath.
At the time of the first incident traction control light came on the low engine power light came on . Speed dropped down to 15 mph. Had to pull over turn car off . Then restarted it again it was fine for a month . It repeated same problem. Now check engine light stays on . Hdhad code read saying throttle cable and traction control. To me that is a serious issue. This is something that needs to be addressed. Highway driving this problem could cause an accident . I can see this has been a issue with general motors with Impalas and other models since 2008. How many of the same complaints would it take until its fixed . Complaints keep coming up after throttle bodies replaced still having same problems. General motors needs to get with the program.
When the incident first occurred, the engine light came on and the dash read "service stabilitrak", "service traction control" and "engine power reduced". It seemed fine when I turned off the car and turned it back on. The next incident didn't happen until a while later, and then it wasn't that bad. A few months later, I was driving back on the highway and the same thing happened, except it said "starting disabled, service throttle" and the car shut off. I pulled over to the side and I was able to restart the car after waiting a few minutes. It was a scary experience. Eventually, leading up to today, my car got worse and worse, and eventually it just started turning off at stoplights with the message "starting disabled, service throttle". It starts with the other messages almost as soon as I turn on the car. The engine revs and the car sounds awful.
When turning on the air, there is a knocking noise on the the passenger side by the glove box. Sounds like the air door actuator. It was the same thing with my 2003 chevy Impala. Check on youtube. There more and more problems with this part. Just purchase this vehicle on July 24, 2013 at a dealership.
Chevy 2010 showed a code of service safety link, traction control engine power reduced and the engine light is on.
