Makes a ticking sound when open door or just sitting when off. Have had fixed $400 and doing same thing again. Everyone I know who have Impala doing same thing something need to be done . Can't keep paying $400 . I love Impala but about ready to tell everyone I know not to buy I have 3 Impalas. The 2010 want quit ticking and the 2003 lights want stay on. Ready to hit facebook!.

Vehicle was being driven and then the service traction control light came on and immediately the vehicle lost power steering and the whole instrument panel appeared to shut down. The engine was still running however I was unable to accelerate. After getting the vehicle to a stop I turned the car off and then tried restarting it. It would start but then immediately the engine would die.

While driving with a passenger in the front seat, the passenger airbag would switch off for no reason without the passenger moving. This happened a number of times over about a week. Then on Friday October 3rd, 2014 it happened again and this time right after it happened all the gauges dropped including fuel, mph, rpm, etc. . . So I pulled into a parking lot and before I was able to stop, the computer module in the car died as well as the engine. I ended up hitting a light post in the parking lot while avoiding a pedestrian. The car has since ceased to start at all. Luckily no one was hurt but this car was clearly not safe. I consider myself very lucky.

The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by the authorized dealer and the contact was waiting for the parts and approval from the manufacturer to remedy the recall. The contact was told parts were not available by one dealer and another dealer indicated that they would repair the vehicle without parts. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. I tried to start the car but everything was dead. No warning lights were on. The key would not come out of the ignition. The battery was only two days old and it checked good. I had it towed to the chevy dealer. The dealer had the car for almost a week ,they said they could not duplicate the problem. This was the third time they have tried to fix it. Since the problem wasn't solved I can not trust the car and my wife can not drive it as you never know when it will fail. I have also had four actuators and two cooling fan motors replaced that were supposed to solve my problem. Didn't work! either gm can't fix the problem or won't. I can't tell which. Anyway I am done with gm cars.
