1 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2021

The car can have moments of power loss where the speedometer suddenly, erratically spikes while the tachometer slightly lags. It almost stalled my vehicle while transmission was in drive while stopped. It feels like dragging when the power loss occurs. This has occurred randomly for the past month, mostly during interstate driving with cruise control operating. It has happened the last six times I have driven, but the previous several times it did not occur. It also occurred in a similar random fashion for the prior two weeks. When it does occur it feels like power drain and deceleration that can last a second and this will occur several times during a twenty minute drive at 70mph. Mechanics at two shops seem confused and don't know where to begin except for a transmission fluid flush. That was completed and the problem has persisted. There are no related error codes. To lose power suddenly and unexpectedly could cause an accident especially if a system failure shuts off the vehicle while driving. This vehicle has had an oil consumption/burning problem since I bought it with around 60,000miles. It needed 2 quarts of oil added between the last oil changes. I have spent $1400 in July of this year on gasket replacements and that did not stop the leak. More gasket heads and an oil pan are going to be need to replaced and the estimate is another $1400. This is too much to be spending on possibly related issues in a short time span that may not resolve the problem.

When I first purchase my car from a used car dealer which is Smart auto dealer, 2 weeks later my vehicle will start to have issues while my vehicle is in motion on the service streets. Whenever I am making a left turn my alert alarm will light up on dash stating service brake assist , service stabilitrak , service traction control and abs light, this will go on & off, but now it stays on constantly. While turning left, there will be a grinding noise, car tends to reduce its power, like its hard for me to take off and my vehicle will kick so hard, like something is locking. Also another issue is while parked on a slanted carport, my vehicle will not go into reverse gear. I feel like my vehicle is going to break because, I have to force it to get into reverse gear, that the vehicle will make the loudest noise, like my axle is going to break on me. According to the dealers service department its not showing up on there diagnostic as any issues. Can someone please tell me if there is a recall on my vehicle? there was a known recall, but my VIN# is not showing up. Dealers are trying to cheat me.

To whom it may concern: I am writing this letter on behalf of my parents for the great abuse that has been done to them. About 3 years ago they were really excited because for the first time in there life after living here for close to 40 years they would have bought a car from a dealership! a fairly new car, first car from a local agency in madera. The name of the dealer: madera Chrysler Jeep Dodge. They sold my parents a defective from the beginning. They knew about the recalls since 10/13/2010 and 05/25/2010 this was before they even purchased the car 11/26/2011. They are doing unlawful sales to vulnerable poor customers and are not in compliance. According to general motors it is and was completely the car dealerships responsibility to fix these recalls (please see attached list of recalls). Their solution is to well purchase a new car from them. They still have our car and have made no intent to fix it. Please help us put a stop to this bad and corrupt sales manager who takes advantage of hispanic latinos who don’t read or speak spanish. There are many families at risk who might buy a car that is defective and there can be a horrible catastrophe or death. Sincerely, maria rodriguez.

25 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2014

I was driving down the street and suddenly I heard a popping sound and I noticed the car wasn't accelerating normally so I made it to my destination and I started the car up went to put it in drive and it wouldn't accelerate is was though the car was in neutral so I put it in reverse and it went into reverse put it 3rd gear wouldn't accelerate the I tried 2cd gear and it drove kind of ruff so I then tried 1st gear and and I was able to make it home at 15 mph so I took the car to the chevy dealer I bought it from and to my surprise they say there were some defective parts in the transmission and they could rebuild the transmission for 2100 dollars and I would have to pay 850 to have it fixed because my car is out of warranty as 7/23/14 the car has the airbag service light and tire sensor light that appears on the dashboard .

While driving on the highway and accelerating to merge, the car felt as if it dropped a gear or two and the power was noticeably reduced. The service light on the dash came on and the error message "service stabilitytrac- service traction control" came across the dash. Now the car when it accelerates "jerks" as if it's having trouble making it to the next gear when moving between 20-30mph on the speedometer. 30 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2013

I own a 2010 Chevrolet Impala. I have had my housing gear replaced and other suspension items in the last year. Since my last major job (housing gear), the car has been making a click when turning the wheel and when going up hill. When the car is going uphill and shifting gears it make a click/pop sound. I have taken my car to the chevy dealer and they constantly act as though they can not hear the sound, which makes it so easy for them to not repair. I have taken my car in for this over 5 times and leave with the problem still being. On two of those occasions they found other issues which resulted in the warranty paying for the problems. My warranty includes a $100 deductible. So I have paid a deductible to get one problem fixed and it has not been repaired to date. I am truly frustartaed, as I am not a mechanic and need my car fixed. I drive a toddler around daily. I feel insecure with my cars driveability. My car needs to be fixed.

32 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2012

Driving home Friday night 12/26/12 on cruise set at 65, bang, car dropped power drastically, kicked off cruise, and the three rotating messages appeared on dash, 1)service stabilitrak, 2)service traction control, & 3)engine power reduced. Both orange placards lit up on dash, service engine and traction. Pulled out of traffic and re started the car. Was able to drive at normal speeds but codes still rotating and placards still lit. Couldn't get it into the shop until Monday 12/31/12. When I started it up to take it in, codes were all cleared and car ran just fine. Dealership told me it was the pedal sensor and would cost me $275 to repair. How can we get gm to do a recall on this on going issue? this is a 2010 chevy Impala lt with 45000 on it. This repair should be covered under warranty and I was told it is not. There have been numerous individuals with this same sensor failing at about 45000 miles. A sudden drop in power to a speed of 25 while driving at highway speeds is very dangerous. It is amazing with as many failures as have been reported to gm on just the edmunds car form site alone that there have not been any serious crashes. Please take a good look at this issue and see if you can't get gm to recall these sensors and get them replaced with better ones.
