When I’m driving and slow down my key will turn itself off making the car itself shut off.
Water enter in through trunk ledge seals to the degree of shortening out the harness, radio dash lighting camera back window. The floor of the trunk was soaked as though water wad poured. The water was standing a lot in the spare tire well. There was another customer with the same year make and model vehicle that had the exact same issue days prior to visit to dealership.
The 2014 chevy Impala is dangerous. When the rocker arm control valve and related parts fail or the camshaft solenoids and sensors fail the car will drive rough and eventually just cut off in the middle of traffic highway or residential. This is what it did on me, putting me in a very dangerous position. The economic loss is still devastating financially as all 2. 5 and 3. 6 engines arent covered by gm special warranty but they should be all covered. My VIN number was not included when it should be.
Fire started behind glove box area and burned electrical wires, instrument panel, airbag, front windshield, hood, water and smoke damage.
Have had car at dealership 3 times total for the side detection system message/blind spot indicator lights. First two times the issue was fixed because I have the mpp coverage plan. This time mpp would have covered it but mechanic shows water intrusion. Their was a recall at one time for vehicles up to 80,000 miles. Mine has 124,000 so not covered but when I took it in for the same thing prior did not have 80,000 miles. So either pay the $900 or pay the diagnostic charge of $155 and walk away with issue not fixed . So many complaints on this and gm has done nothing. If I have fixed the module is over $200 for the one side. It keeps going out. Gm should fix this and create another recall for this all so common issue!!.
The car electrical goes haywire. All these alerts and pop up come on abs lights. Stabillatrac. No power steering. Looked up issue it has something with a bad sensor in bumper. Very dangerous.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle made a rattling sound when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact also stated that the vehicle would stall occasionally while driving at various speeds. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Chevrolet of homewood (18033 s halsted st, homewood, IL 60430) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed by the mechanic that nothing needed to be replaced. The contact had the rotors replaced on the vehicle however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to mike anderson Chevrolet of merrillville (1550 e 61st Ave, merrillville, in 46410) for a second diagnostic test. The mechanic was unable to provide a cause for the failure. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.
The computer with the radio component goes out causing all alarms, turn signals, and notifications to be silent. Also onstar and all radio components are inop. Temporarily you can fix the issue by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery but it will inevitably have to be reprogrammed. This is a known issue and is located in many forums.
We have had several problems with the blind spot sensor on our 2014 Impala ltz. Problems would always occur when driving in rain or snow. Dealer would just say that the sensor gets wet and that we should try to dry it off. Once the sensor was dry it would work ok. Now the sensor does not work at all. Took it off and it was full of corrosion. Reading online regarding reviews I find out that this is a very common problem with gm vehicles but gm refuses to do a recall. However they did do a special offer to replace the sensor if you have less than 80,000 miles. My car has 85,000 but I have dealt with this problem for several years. I replaced the sensor myself (at a cost of $400) and now they tell me it has to be reprogrammed. That really sucks. It is too bad that gm just can't accept the fact that they have a faulty product. I am currently waiting for a call back from the dealer to see what it cost to get sensors and wiring harness replaced (gm admits that there definitely was a problem and says you have to replace both sensors and the wiring harness). How in the world can this not be a recall!!!!!!!!!!!.
For the second time since purchasing this vehicle new, the blind spot detection system is failing. When this system fails it slowly takes out the rest of the vehicles electrical systems, even those not related to any collision avoidance system. The first time I had it repaired it was out of the original warranty meaning I had to pay the approx. $1000 bill. A year or so later received a letter from gm saying that that repair would now be covered up to 6 years/80,000 mile and if I had already paid for such repair that I could file a claim and they would reimburse me for the previous work. Well amazingly they reimbursed me for the first repair, which was great! except now, the same exact thing has happened again and I am now past the 6 year 80,000 mile mark. Gm needs to redesign this system to not be placed in high moisture areas or at the very least have a module/connector that is not susceptible to water intrusion.
Rear blind spot system failed, causing most electrical systems to also fail. Headlights, wipers, rear cross traffic, speedometer, instrument cluster, inconsistent gas pedal operation.
Been having battery corrosion problems. All at once abs and traction lights came on, steering got hard. I was driving when all this occurred.
I just got my car back from the dealer and not even a day later after they had it for 3 days they told me that they could find nothing wrong with my car. But as I am riding down the highway I was going about 65 and my car shut and came back on. I lost control of my steering wheel, then the car started driving normal. Once I arrived to my job and turned the car off. My vehicle shut off and the ignition lights along with the side panel lights was blanking but nothing else was on. I couldn't put my windows up and the car wouldn't cut on so I left it for a few minutes and walked back outside after 5 minutes because I noticed all of my outside lights where on, and at this time. I was able to cut my car on and off but I don't know what to expect when I get ready to leave. I need someone to contact me so I can get this fix because its becoming annoying and I am a disabled veteran and its working my mental.
Around 3 years ago. 3 parts the lane departure modules control are the blind spot sensors, rear backup sensors and a front camera. My lane departure modules got wet and messed up my car where there were many things going wrong. While I was driving my car said the air bag went off, theft was detected, blower fan & temp controls where going on and off while I was driving. 2 years ago gm agreed to replace the modules. The dealership said they were having problems with the programming of the modules. They finally got them to program. The day I picked up my car I noticed issues with the sensor system. They said to drive it. I took it and the problem got worse. With the blind spot sensor, on the passenger side goes on and off all the time, I have pictures and videos showing where I am driving with no vehicle next to me at all with the light for the sensor shining bright. The rear backup sensor does not warm me, last week I did not see a garbage can behind me because it was lower than my trunk and I hit the can and broke my tail light. The front sensor that tells me I am going to fast for the car in front of me goes on randomly when the car in front of me is more than 100 feet or no car at all. I have taking my car to 3 dealerships 4 times. All the deanship's say they can't fix it because they don't get a code. There is no code for this, not to mention when my lane departure modules failed there was no code for it, they just stopped working. They say it is undiagnoseable. Gm saw the pictures and videos and are now saying there is nothing wrong with the system without looking at the car just the pictures and videos. How can they say nothing is wrong when you see in the videos the light is on and no car is next to me? how do I let my 15-year-old daughter drive this car with a light on when no one is there? please help me! the safety and security system is not safe at all.
Recurring problems with side detection system components.
The blind spot detection isn't working on the passenger side. Usually it doesn't come on at all, and every once in a while it'll come on randomly and stay on and not shut off even when the car has been turned off.
I own a 2014 chevy Impala ltz. During the winter of 2018 - 2019 I started seeing the side detection light come on randomly and staying on even when the car was not running. The problem progressed and one day as I was driving down the highway at 60 mph, at night, all powered systems flashed on and off including my headlights. I brought the car into the dealer and was told it was not covered. I reluctantly paid the $1,456 bill. A few months later I received the notice that there was a recall and I submitted a request for reimbursement, which I did receive from the dealer. Now a little over a year later I am having the same issues. I knew I needed to get the car back to the dealer. When I called to get an appointment they were three weeks out. Now just days before my appointment with the dealer, my car won't even start. All electrical systems flash on and off. My car has just under 80,000 miles. This is a major safety issue as it effects all electrical systems in the car. Most of the safety functions of this car rely on the electrical system.
My side detection module has gone out and is now causing other electrical failures. My understanding from online research is that this is a common problem attributed to design flaws.
All my side sensors are failing and causing my info system to turn off. Also noticed smoke coming from one of the sensors. These events occur when the car is started up.
I was driving and the side detection system warning came up and my car started to malfunction right in the middle of an intersection. It would shut off, come back on, lights were flickering, and I lost braking control. Had to limp my car into a nearby parking lot. I know Chevrolet offered a special warranty for this issue, but it was like 6 years later, and half the people you find with this issue are outside the mileage they require. This is a huge safety concern, and Chevrolet should be the one to fix it.
Service side detection system. While driving this message comes on and when the car is stopped as well. Tim lally diagnosed the problem side object detection modules cost $841. 21 plus tax. I contacted lemica from gm at x5910821. I was told their is nothing gm could do as my car is at 11900 miles. This is a safety issue. This will cause car to possibly catch on fire, not to start and several other issues if not repaired. The blind spot detection system has been an issue in several 2014 Chevrolet Impalas. I can't use the vehicle fearful of me and my children may be in danger. I've had 3 or more conversations with gm representative lemica but no help. The safety issues with the defective parts used during manufacturing is unacceptable as this is not a wear and tear item. My name is william rivers my original case #9-5860275112 was filed with gm. This is a safety and should be considered as a recall. Gm only offers repair if your vehicle is 80000 miles or less which is unfair to the owners of the vehicle who have experienced this problem. My number is 216-860-7426 if there are any further questions that need answering.
I was driving with my infant daughter in the car when everything electrical in my car started going haywire. My blinkers did not work, my radio was on the fritz, breaking was cutting in and out, and my steering kept locking up. We were going through a very busy intersection in town too, and my car doing something like this could have gotten us both seriously injured or even worse. It did it once again a few weeks later while I was in the highway, but lucky I knew how to react once the problem started. I come to find out it's a safety feature causing the issue. It's shorting out and causing the entire car to essentially shutdown. While. Im. Driving. If this isn't a safety issue in need of a recall, I do not know what is.
My car has been stalling on occasional incidents for the past 3 years, I have brought it up to my Chevrolet dealer and they say nothing is wrong, but on Friday January 17, 2020 I was driving down the fwy at 65 miles an hour and my cars speed gauge dropped to 1 and my speed began to decrease, I had to act quickly, as I was on the fast lane, I stepped harder on the gas and after like 5 sec. My speed and gauge began to increase. I also had an incident with my car on Feb. 21, 2020 as I going to park at my college, I began to turn left and my cars engine completely turned off, my car lights and radio were on the battery voltage was at 14. 9, but my car no longer wanted to start. I tried numerous times to turn it on after the 8th time I gave up because I got the smell of gas, my car had 3/4 of gas so I new that was not the issue. I had to call triple a to get my car towed and I was I formed that my car turned on with no issue when they delivered it home. This past few weeks my car has been stalling but not to that degree, I will be taking it back to my dealer to see if the can find anything, but I'm very worried with these issues.
Driving on the highway and dash notification popped up that I needed to service my power steering, service my stabiltrac, service abs. I lost power (electric) steering and barely able to exit and park safely. I'm a small woman with not much strength and I could hardly turn my wheel with every bit of muscle. This is not safe! I could've been seriously injured or died along with other drivers/vehicles! this needs to be a complete recall!!!!.
I bought the car March 1st 2017 with 89346 miles. Everything was going great,no problems, and I love it. I received a special coverage letter in may of 2019 that informed me of a potential side blind zone alert problem preventing it from working properly and to bring it in only if it met the special circumstances that came with it including being within 6 years of original service or 80,000 miles. At the time, there was no sign of problems, so I just set the notice aside and did what the the notice told me,until February 2020. It was wet outside one day and I noticed that the passenger side blind zone alert located on the mirror always stayed on, even though the car was off. It always stays on and I was concerned about it so I started doing research and learned it is a very common expensive problem and many people are upset this is happening to them, including me. I took it to the dealership for my appointment, under the impression that it was covered, only to get there and tell me that it has expired and that it would be $90 to diagnose the obvious issue. I think that Chevrolet needs to extend the special program or do something to help customers that purchased the car after the expiration date, especially customers like me that purchased the car after the 80,000 miles. . This is a safety issue that needs to be addressed. I love the car but this light constantly being on is a nuisance and should not be happening on a newer car, and it is also a safety concern.
The vehicle had water damage from clogged sunroof drains, which cause water to run all down the side and back panels causing an extensive amount of damage from one horrible design flaw. Some of the things effected was electrical company's such as electronic parking break was engaged and would not release cause the vehicle not to move! next was corrosion on several other inside wires having to do with steering and possibly air bags, but who knows if they will be effective until there is an accident and it's too late to find out if they are dmamged. Other safety features such as side detection was corroded so it too malfunctioned. There was a lot of other electrical things damaged but the car is in the shop and I don't know what else could be a huge safe concern. There is now so much mold which is dangerous to be breathing in if not totally replaced. There is an extensive amount of water in the spare tire wheel well that is causing rust and the inability to use this safety feature if needed! this became a horrible safety concern for myself and whomever my be traveling in my vehicle. Please do research into this because I could not believe this could happen to a car with only 70,000 miles! my car is in the shop so I cannot take any pictures of it! please help!.
While at red lights all electronics will turn off. The car has to be restarted. The lights, locks, and screens go off intermittently while driving.
Side mirror light stays on with car off. . . Also shut down of heater instrument lights while driving.
The blind spot detection sensor is corroding and shorting out. It is causing other systems on the car to show error messages and failures like the air bag and traction system well driving. It also keeps blowing fuses. This sensor was never properly protected from the elements. It also cost over $800 to replace one of them. I know this is the problem because I have had to replace them before and it is happening the exact same way.
While I was driving on the highway, my vehicle gave me a service side detection system warning. A few more miles down the road, I smelled an electrical smell almost like something was burning. Luckily, I made it home and am taking it to the dealership tomorrow. It was very scary and I'm thankful my 1 year old son wasn't in the car with me at that time.
While driving in town- side detection message appears on dash. Left side detection indicator stays on. Vehicle taken to dealership for service. Service technician informs me the detection module is corroded, likely from moisture. The statement reads two "miscellaneous body electrical- repair" recommendations totalling $1104. 91. I can not afford this. I ask if we can disable or turn off the sensor and I am told no. I ask if neglecting to replace the corroded module can cause further disruptions with the vehicle, including safety systems, and I am told yes, it can. This is outrageous. The module should never be made in a way where it is susceptible to water damage, especially given its placement in the rear bumper. This is negligent design and complete disregard for safety, the user, or the product. I hope I havent left anything important out. I am trying to be factual and keep my frustration aside.
Side detection lights don't work and followed all the ideas to make them work other than replacing them. Was going down the round and was going to make a turn and the lights weren't working. The next time they work ,now there out completely.
Side detection warning system failed and as a result while I was driving the electrical cluster and air bag system alert theft alert starting beeping flashing only half of the stuff works when it feels like it I cant drive the car air bags could deploy at anytime trunk could open doors come unlocked you cant see how fast your going so my car is parked in a garage undrivable.
Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. While, driving 70 mph all the instrument cluster warning lights became inoperable. And the vehicle failed to shut down. The contact disconnected the battery to turn vehicle off. The vehicle was towed to feldman Chevrolet of lansing 2801 e michigan Ave, lansing, mi 48912 (517) 489-4858 where diagnosed that the safety senors became inoperable. And there was a water intrusion in the side sensor module the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 130,000. Ap.
When driving the warning sensor came on on saying power steering and stab track problem. I was on the highway and came inches from an accident. My steering was not normal and found it very hard to steer around car in front of me that slammed on breaks. Then I pulled over to see what was wrong and got warning that front camera wasn't working. . . I don't have a front camera! then when I backed out of that driveway it gave warning that my rear camera warning sensors were not working. I'm afraid to drive my car.
