The contact owns a 1999 Chevrolet K1500. On may 17, 2008, while driving 10 mph, smoke appeared from the dashboard, followed by flames. There were no warning indicators prior to the failure. The fire department arrived and extinguished the fire. The fire department stated that something electrical heated up under the dashboard and caused the fire. The contact checked to see if he was eligible for any reimbursements because he has no comprehensive insurance to cover the damage. The failure mileage was 101,000. Updated 6/16/08.
