Hazard Flashing Warning Light problems of the 2000 Chevrolet Malibu

The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that turn signals and hazard lights would activate independently or failed to work at all. Also, the contact mentioned that burning fumes were emitted into the vehicle and she could hear the wires sparking. The dealer was contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu. While driving at any speed, the turn signal and hazard lights worked intermittently. The lights operated on their own without being manually activated. The contact discovered NHTSA campaign id number 03v327000 (03043) (exterior lighting:hazard flashing warning lights:switch) for this same failure; however, the dealer would not honor the recall. The current mileage was 104,000 and failure mileage was 103,000.

Turn signals stop working or don't work at all.

Consumer's vehicle experienced the same problem as mentioned NHTSA recall 03v27000. Hazard warning switches may experience solder joint cracking caused by rapid temperature transitions and the soldering process. If solder joint cracking occurs and results in an open circuit, the turn signals/hazard lamps become intermittent or inoperative. Dealership indicated to the consumer that this vehicle wa snot included in the recall due to VIN.

I have hazard warning failure indicated on your web site for Malibu but gm states that my vechicle number dosen't fit with the recall on my Malibu, but this continuse to be a concern for my wife and myself when we are driving not knowing our single lights will fail.

The consumer stated the turn signal lights came on and went off on their own. The consumer was able to drive the vehicle to the dealer for inspection. The mechanic informed the consumer that the turn signal light unit needed to be replaced. Exterior lighting,turn signals hazards light. Quit working then start then qiut. The Chevrolet garage told us it is a soldering problem,nd the car was made like this and others Malibu was recalled but yours hasn't and its the same year ,make, and model.

Turn signals are inoperative, causing the vehicle not to have appropriate turning or changing lane functions. Turn signals make other drivers aware of consumer's direction. After having the repair done for a total of $137. 88 two weeks later a recall was issued for the Malibu, the dealer checked the consumers VIN and found that it was not included in the recall. So they refused to reimburse the consumers repair bill.

The turn signals and hazard flashers on my 2000 chevy Malibu only work intermittently. Often times they will not work at all, or they will stop working in the middle of a turn. They will flash once or twice and quit working; in addition, they will work for a moment then quit working then begin working again. Also, rarest of all, they will work fine. There is a recall on the turn signals and hazard flashers for the same make, model, and year; however, gm has told me that it does not cover my vehicle. Obviously, the problem that I am experiencing is the same or similar to the problems experienced in covered vehicles (if, in fact, mine is not a covered vehicle). This has been happening for several months without an obvious cause. There are no conditions which made my car immune from this problem, but it happens less when I run the air conditioner.

I have a 2000 chevy Malibu. I am having problems with my blinkers working intermittently. I have scheduled an appointment to take it in. When the blinkers are not working I have realized my hazard light also do not work. We changed the fuse and they work for 3 weeks straight but now I am back to one turn thye work the next they dont.

The hazard lights and turn signal lights were defective. Sometimes they worked, and sometimes they did not work. If the consumer hit the dashboard the signals would work. This vehicle was not included in the NHTSA recall 03v327000.
