I just had to have my driver's side rear tail light assembly replaced. I had to pay for it myself. The Chevrolet Malibu 2000 tail light leaked allowing water to enter the light. I do not believe I am the only one who has encountered this problem. There has been no help from manugacturer to pay for this replacement.

3 Tail Light problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2002

The right rear tail lights holds water after driving through car washes and rain. Then the brake light burns out.

4 Tail Light problem

Failure Date: 11/06/2001

VIN is 1g1ne52j0y6327722 manufactured 05/00. Rain water collects and is retained in right tail light assembly. One lamp of four shorted and blew. Assembly is inadequately sealed and insulated against water. Cost of new reaplacement tail light assembly is $249.

5 Tail Light problem

The tail light assembly developed excessive condensation due to water entering the sealed assembly, and caused them to fail.
