One night when it was snowing, I was leaving work and three lights came on when I went to stop my vehicle. The abs, traction control and service engine lights came on and I had trouble stopping my vehicle. After this little incident I noticed the brakes was not working properly. Took the car to auto zone and put it on the code reader. A code pooped up, but could not be told what it was. They said you would have to take it the dealer for them to tell you what the code is. I had to go to work, so didn't have time to take it there. Well I was driving down the road and the lights pooped back on and when I went to hit my brakes there was none. I hit a truck that stopped in front of me.

With the shaking steering wheel and the power steering going in and out my front tires where feeling out of balance so I pulling into wal-mart and had them look at it. Both of my front tires had busted belts in them and my breaks were pretty much gone and the rotors were torn up. The alignment was way off causing the car to not steer . I was told all this is because of the power steering going out. This car is not safe to drive, however its my only means of transportation and with so many of these problems I have no money to have he problems fixed. Something needs to be done . There are so many others with the same problem,.
We have received three recall notices for the above mentioned problems. All of the notices say that the car will be fixed free of charge by the dealer but parts are not available at the current time. When I got the second notice I called and talked to a woman at the Chevrolet division of gm and was told the parts should be available within two weeks. A month later we got our third notice of a different problem and when I called again I was told that they had not determined the "root" of the problem so they don't know which parts need to be replaced. Also they could not tell me when the solution would be found and therefore when the parts would be available. In addition I would think an american company like gm would be hiring americans to answer their customer's complaints. It was pretty obvious that the person I talked to today was most likely a call person from india. Any ideas when these problems will be solved?? who should I complain to next??.

When I apply my brakes to stop or slow down my brakes seem to go out or not work intermittently. My husband thinks it has to do with the abs. This has almost caused me to hit the vehicles in front of me so I must leave a rather large stopping distance between myself and the front car which is fine but when I must make a quick stop to avoid an accident my brakes cut out.
I have been having issues with the ignition switch in my 2004 chevy Malibu maxx but general motors says that it is not a recall under my VIN on my vehicle. I believe there are more recalls associated with my car and alot of other people's vehicles but unfortunately general motors will not own up to the fact that there are more recalls on their products. I have spoken with an attorney about my case and he stated the same thing I am saying about general motors. I have been having one problems after the another with my 2004 chevy Malibu maxx since I bought the vehicle and none of those issues have anything to do with my driving or upkeep on the vehicle. I have maintained everything on my vehicle and replaced over $2,000 worth in repairs because there were recalls out there about my car and I wasnt notified about them. General motors does not want to make it right they just want to make money off this recall situation!.

Lady lost control of car and hit a truck and smashed passenger side front section and air bags deployed. She did not have the money to pay the tow company so she let them have the car. I found this information on car facts online. My son lives in mo and purchased the car and I purchased the car due to the low miles on the car and now having problems getting the air bags to function properly. I also caller deery brothers Chevrolet dealership and they checked my VIN and this car does have a recall on it.
The car steering wheel locked up and unable to control where it was going to guide as coming around curve. Ended up in ditch and shaking like crazy! im so afraid that something is going to happen. I want another car!.
While on my way home, driving north on I-95 near washington, DC, I experienced lots of electrical problems (noise and grabbing to the left in the steering column, repeated bulb and light unity failures) then suddenly, a total loss of power steering. I became so scared while needing both hands to manage in heavy traffic traveling at an average of 65mph that I immediately threw a lit cigarette out the window in a desperate effort to control the vehicle. The steering wheel is almost impossibly difficult to steer. I was unaware that it had blown behind my back onto the driver’s seat until it burnt me, my shirt and the seat. It is by the grace of god that I didn’t have a fatal accident. It is probably needless to say that I continue to experience back pain. A disaster is waiting to happen! the fact is that sometimes while driving the power steering will start working again as quickly as it went out. Consider that I could be turning the wheel as hard as I can and at that second the power returns to send me spinning. Keep in mind that this is occurring more frequently everyday. Sometimes it does stop when the car is turned off and sometimes it does not. With regard to the brakes they make a loud and grinding sound when I lift off of them.

I was driving along the road, and the yellow wrench popped up,the wheel was difficult to control. Also, while turning the car the wheel was difficult to turn. This problem occurs at least 3-4 times a year. My brake peddle acts up in the snowy months. When I press the brake peddle-the peddle jumps pushes up and down into my feet. When it snows, I worry about running into a car.
I was driving the chevy Malibu when a car behind me about rear ende me. I stopped and they told me that I had a break light out. I tried replacing bulbs and the whole assembly and nothing worked. I took the pig tail out of the passenger light off and noticed that the prongs for the lights was corroded. I bought a new one but the pig tail is still ruined. ( the wiring got wet in a sealed unit. ) it got so wet that it started to melt the outside lens cover. It is a fire hazzard and an accident hazzard.

All brakes seem to engage while driving and will not release until car seats for several hours. Brakes became very hot and caused steering problems.
On 12/2008 while driving from California to the east coast, roughly 3 hours into my trip the wrench in the car display on the dash lit up and "power steering" was displayed on the radio. The next exit (barstow) was approx 8 miles away. I awoken the next morning to find that there had been a blizzard that night. After waiting what seemed forever I got the news that the steering column ( gm 15926870) and the ignition switch (gm 15823541) needed to be replaced. Left barstow after losing 2-3 days of travel and dropping $1150. 00 to the dealer, almost $200. 00 for hotel and about $125. 00 on food. After receiving the necessary documents I gathered up my receipts and took my vehicle to the dealership to have the supposed work completed and turned in the necessary documents to the dealer. Six days later I experienced the same problem. I called the dealer and explained the situation. The service writer stated that they've been experiencing this problem after recall work has been completed. Monday morning I took the vehicle in. The service writer stated that this problem doesn't usually happen (of course the gentleman that I spoke with on Friday with was not in) and that they would check to see if the problem was related to the recall work that had been performed. Of course they said that the problem was not related to the recall work that had been performed, and that to fix the current issue would cost $850. There was also a charge of $121. 00 (labor@ $110 plus shop fees and tax). After all these years gm knew of the deficiencies and short comings with they're vehicles. They've had time to prepare and prep their personnel for any and all questions, comments and scenarios. Damage control. My concern is that when the recall work was performed, the tech doing the work didn't follow proper procedures. A long call to gm, my issue has been escalated to the next step.
While driving on the highway, I lost power steering in my vehicle almost causing an accident. This has been an occurring problem for the last year or so but never on the highway. We had taken the car to a service station and they could not find any thing wrong.
