Didnt know wtf, wheels didn't turn, shut off he later was there. Ignition switch will keep turning. Rins battery dead. Im scared power steering will go out while driving. Its a scary thought. Think I will sell . It's the worse recall I've heard of. Can they be fixed.
The car is hard to shift out of park, the break lights stay on while driving and go off when pressed.
Ignition staying stuck alowing starter to continue to turn, day time no break lights , night time break lights stay lit up or flash on and off , fuel gauge drops to empty even when full bounces back and forth empty full , service air bag and check engine lights keep coming on even after they have been reset, cruise control will not engage , hard time to take car out of park even with brake depressed, lower gears on transmission will not engage into 3,2,1 speed, driver seat bracket broke in weld causing seat to be unstable, faulty ignition switch and more this car has less than 150 k on it 148 and some change,,, air bag service light keeps coming on as well as check engine light, this car will not pass any state inspection , and even states with out inspection would advise that the car be recalled.
I'm having an issue where's I'm scared I will be in a car accident. My engine light comes on then my tc light then my car say engine power reduce in the car will just shut off.
I bought my car in 2013 and it's been a decent car. However it is the 2nd Malibu that I've owned and it's got the same issues. The running lights have an electrical error where they short out and melt the actual lights. I'm constantly having to replace the bulbs. I've gotten to where I just turn them off. The 2nd thing happened today. My first Malibu didn't have a sunroof but this one does. I was driving on the interstate when all the sudden I heard this loud explosion, like a gunshot or a semi truck tire blowing up. I look all around me and when I looked up, glass was falling on my head. My sunroof randomly exploded. And according to several mechanical engineers, it's physically impossible for an object flung by another vehicle to shatter a sunroof. Apparently manufacturers have started getting lazy with sunroofs when making cars, so if I were you, I wouldn't buy a car with a sunroof.
My front blinker lights have melted the blinker light housing (the individual plastic globe the bulb resides in). They have to be replaced at a rate of approximately 6 months and I believe it is the car not the lights as I have tried different brands to see if the problem is with the bulbs. **note: as I have not kept a record of the incidents, I have listed the last time as precise date.

I purchased this vehicle yesterday and upon inspection last night I realized that the orange plastic dome that fits over the lamp for the passenger side blinker is unattached, when my father looked farther into it he became aware that the wires are melted and so is the part of the orange piece that attaches, upon further research it seems that this is a problem that many owners of this model have encountered, is there a recall or something on this to have it replaced?.

I purchased my chevy Malibu maxxx January of just last year and I had to replace my front left head light thinking nothing of just normal maintenance and this was right around August of last year and it is now March of 2013 and I just had to do it again but this go round it seemed more like a short because it stopped working one night driving home from work which I drive a very busy highway at night and that next morning it was working just fine so me being the normal american person I think nothing of it but the following day it goes out fully and when I went to go change the light this time I noticed it had actually burned through the amber color cover of the bulb and also burned the socket up in the vehical. But now get this about the same time last year my aux fuse began to blow over and over not thinking anything about it but now after reading all of these different situations I kinda wonder if the two situations could have anything to do with one another.
I had to buy a transmission for my Malibu and now I am receiving recalls (multiple) # 14152 & #13036 for the same car. However, on the freeway coming home from temecula, CA, south bound on the 15 highway, my transmission was not engaging. No loud sounds, or excess acceleration, nor too much weight (driver and passenger only cargo. ) the engine was on and as I accelerated the engine was going but nothing was propelling us forward. I had to buy a new transmission and pay for labor which came out to a hefty expense. With everything I have read online and forums for these recalls I feel like a reimbursement should be in order if the manufacture even had a slight hesitation of a possible defect.

2005 chevy Malibu front parking light lens melt onto bulb, probably caused by parking lights used as daytime running lights. Also shows heat discoloration on reflective material in light assembly. I've personally inspected over 15 2005 chevy Malibu, all have same issue. Vehicles with more miles showed more damage. Possible fire hazard and once melted enough violates lighting requirements. Tried working with chevy customer service who refused to acknowledge the problem.

Front blinkers on 2005 chevy Malibu, one of the bulbs blow about once a month. I have to replace bulb every time.
I had my first problem when I purchased the car. It would jerk & felt it was moving on it's own. Then the lamps would go out and I was replacing the bulbs every month. Then my key starter has failed two times after replacing them. The driver seat has calapsed on the left hand side. The rear seat handle to raise the seats up and down has broken on both passenger side. My lights have burned out on the front driver's side you can see the residue on the cover. The chairs was not scotch guard protected as stated they are very stained even when I tried to was them. In ready some of the others it appear as though mu care had all the defects of my counter parts.
Front right drl bulb keeps going out. . When replaced I noticed the socket appears to be bad and the amber casing is melted. The light has been replaced 3 times in the last 3 months.
