For the last year or so I have been having issues with my break lights ingaging and my cruise control inoperable. I currently have a 2009 Malibu. A friend was driving behind me once and mentioned later that I was riding my brakes all the way home. I was not. I notice a few days later this happened again, but it was dusk and I could see from my rear window the reflection of my break light, it was on and my brake was not ingaged. This has happened several other times, to my knowledge. If I tap my breaks the lights will go off, however will come back on within a few seconds. I'm highly concerned about a rear end collision. If I actually do have to stop quickly and the person behind me hitting me because my break lights are not functioning properly. I've taken it in to a mechanic and they can't replicate the issues. It's intermittent.

Was driving down the road and the steering wheel tightened up and the power steering light came on and the traction control kicked on and esc service came across the screen, and the wheel is hard to turn. It will kick on and off and before it kicks on the steering wheel jerks back and forth. Then was drving down the road and came up on a exit and went to hit the brakes and the brakes went out but then cameback on. Car keeps doing it with the steering wheel it will go on and off.
As I was approaching a red light there was a car in front of me, I went to push the brake and the brakes did not work, I almost hit the car in front of me but the light turned green before I could hit the car.
I have the same issue another person wrote about. I was driving when a car pulled up next to me to tell me that when I break, my break lights don't go on but when I begin to drive again, they go on. I went home and told my husband. And at that time it worked just fine. But then in July of 2013 my 23 year old daughter was driving my car and she said the same thing happened. A car in back of her asked her to pull over and told her that our break lights don't work. But that they go on when she begins to drive again. This can be very very dangerous! I haven't been able to take it to the dealer because I'm currently unemployed so can't afford it but now that I read another person is having the same issue I think there needs to be a recall before someone does get killed. Please listen to your purchasers and recall this.
I have to change head lights 3 times. Only can take to dealer ($150. 00). When having tires replaces and brakes. The abs/esc/traction control alarms lights stays on while driving. I contact Chevrolet now for last three years. I was told because my car is out warranty they will not approval repair. I recently taken car to dealer recall # 13036. That my car would be approval for loaner. Chevrolet/ dealer. All warranty have expires that would not approval for repairs there's no one to bill or pay for repairs and loaner. I will be taken this public. As a consumers and would like to stay a purchaser of gm/chevy to warn everyone of their practices.
My service seat belt sign goes on occasionally when I start car, but goes off if I shut off car and restart it. The dealer said they cannot test it if the sign on dash is not on. Also, I had to replace rear brakes and grind rotors at 37,000 miles-seems kind of premature. Now I am having some kind of possible electrical draw since my old and brand new battery have gone dead. Has anyone else experienced these problems?.
On September 14, 2008 at approximately 12:30 am, the car I was driving suddenly went into a skid after which I aggressively deployed the brakes when the airbags deployed leaving me unconscious and not in control of the car. The car then hit the barrier and then a parked disabled car at a high speed. I was injured and the driver of the parked car was fatally killed. I went to prison for five years because no one would believe my story.
Airbags deployed when I hit the brakes in 2008.
