The air bag light comes on daily since then and the dealer told my wife that the air bag light was nothing than the air bags not working not to worry about it,but the air bag light stays on all the time now.
Driver side door could not be opened with manually from inside, or with the key or auto opener. Driver had to exit over the counsel and out the passenger side. When I turned it into the dealership, I was told it was the actuator malfunction and that they would replace it. They didn't seem too concerned that this was a new issue and what I believe a serious safety issue, in addition I have had to take this vehicle six times to the dealership because of the "service air bag" indicator light keeps coming on. Another safety issue that had a recall but was not fixed yet.
The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact started the ignition and the air bag warning indicator illuminated. In December of 2010, the vehicle was repaired under a voluntary recall issued by the manufacturer regarding the air bag. The vehicle was not repaired for the recent failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was unavailable.
Air bag light coming on intermittently. Car was taken to dealer for recall and service preformed. Car continued to have intermittent service air bag message. I returned for service after warranty expired with mileage reading of 33,000. Paid $93 to have dielectric grease added to in line connector. Service air bag light now on steady almost never goes out. Mileage now near 37000. This car has always been kept in a garage.
1) gm is covering up a defect in rims ( not completely welded, I have the rim as evidence) 2) currently my service esc, traction, air bag lights are all on ( so is my air bag gonna explode? is my car not stable enough to be driven?) 3) 2011 I paid to have my car fixed because the brake lights stayed on. ( maybe had 3000 miles) 4) my brake lights currently stay on. ( aprox 70,000 miles) 5) I have contacted gm several times, have not spoke to anyone. 6) when the car behind me can not tell if I am stopping because my lights stay on and I am killed along with the person behind me. . . Maybe someone will listen.
2010 Malibu; I've had it just over 3 months; air bag light continually lit up; took to dealership; I've waited over a week; they ordered 5 modules to replace safety air bag system; to replace they had to remove both front seats; cut the tracks of the seats out; order new tracks and has to weld them back in the car; how safe is this car going to be at this point? I only wish for a different car at this point as I have 2 year old that I transport in this car and do not feel safe even with them replacing all the modules.
