I was driving down the highway when the passenger side curtain airbags deployed for no reason. Air bag deployment stunned the driver, but fortunately did not cause accident.
Connector for airbags sensor wiring has a problem which is address in general motors document recall 13040a dated April 2014. There is a warning on the dash about the airbags not operational. We have never been contacted by general motors about this problem, but other Chevrolet Malibu owners are have the same problem.
My airbag light just recently came on driver frontal airbag may explode NHTSA-19001900 power steering NHTSA- 14e044000 u joint premature failure electrical system all out of wack nhsta-14v252000 bcm resistance result in voltage fluctuations in brake power train- NHTSA 12v460000 4 speed automatic transmission the tabs on transmission shift cable end may fracture and separate.
Head light wire is out , electrical wire is messing up . Car is shaking bad and won’t start . Air bag light is on.
First off the power steering goes out and can only be fixed by applying dielectric grease to the bcm but that will fix it. Second the airbag light will randomly go on but this can also be remedy by fixing the yellow connection under the passenger seat try jiggling it if that doesnt fix it just cut the two wires off the connector's and splice with crimp connectors. Hope this helps you as much as it did me :).
Was driving down highway at approximately 70 to 75 miles per hour when my drivers side window airbag and seat airbag deployed. It hit my face shoulder and arm. There was no collision and I was able to keep control of the vehicle for the most part. I swerved a little but regained control quickly. My seat belt is locked and is no longer usable.
I was driving down the road after I bought the car and the steering suddenly went out the dic said "service esc" and "service traction" and I could barely move the steering wheel I was lucky to be on a country road because if I was on the highway I could have lost complete control and caused an accident I took it to a mechanic and they said "the dielectric grease in the bcm connector wore out" when I googled it I saw there was a recall but when I contacted the dealer they said there was nothing they could do for me. This is very concerning as who knows how many Malibus steering could randomly go out over such a stupid problem I could be available if you would like to inspect the car/systems.
Dealer not assisting in recall repairs that weren’t corrected.
My car air passenger dont detect my seatbelt says im not buckle and I am dont know if its a wire my lighting inside goes on and off and my car smells too much gasoline.
Air bag light randomly pop on . Electrical system is so bad that I only have 1 head light and it’s very dangerous driving at night like that .
The airbag don’t work, I just payed 1200$ to replace the computer pc because the car wouldn’t start and that didn’t solve the problem the check engine light is always on, the car have electrical problems; if I run the ac it blows hot and then the car go to engine power reduces within 4 minutes. If I drive the car it will go on engine power reduce after 6 minutes because the fan is not working due to the fact that that car has electrical problems and the fan is not getting enough power to warm the car up and the engine gets real hot and it go to making a loud rumbling noise and growling and I can only drive 10 mph and 40 mph the fastest but then the car go to shaking and wen I try to park the car it’s shaking nd rumbling which can cause an accident.
The passenger light beam will not come on it also messes with my radio it turns it to the aux I keep replacing the bub in the harness and it's still not working not not to mention the car felt like a lost of power due to I guess the trance when turning a corner or pulling off. The air bag light comes on a few days and turn off.
From the minute I drove my car off the lot the dash has been saying service airbags. A week ago while I was driving I lost power steering. The dash said service esc and the traction control light popped up on the dash. If I turn off my car for a while the power steering may still work when I start it back up, but eventually I lose power steering again while driving.
It is my understanding that the airbags/side and front are defective for my vehicle? can someone please help in finding out what I do now. . . The vehicle and I was involved in a wreak and I was injured badly and was hospitalized. . . . . ? I was traveling on the hwy at posted speed when I was struck. . . First the drivers side and then the l-fender and hood. . . The vehicle that hit me rolled 3 or 4 times.
I got into a car accident on 04/08/2020 and the air bag didn't deploy.
My right front headlight (regular low beam) keeps going out and having to be replaced. My mechanic replaced it in July of this year, and again in October, and it is out yet again, not even two months later. My mechanic can't find any reason for it. In addition, my service air-bag light is on, although it's never gone off, and the entire transmission had to be replaced at about 63,000 miles. Regarding the light - so far, I've been lucky that it hasn't contributed to any kind of accident, especially since deer are very active at this time of year and are very common in our area.
Pulled out of car wash and onto the highway (speed limit is only 40) through town, power steering went out and light began displaying with audible sound as well as service esc. The mileage on my vehicle is 150,760 when this occurred. There is currently a bulletin published referencing this problem (15356) in which it appears to only warrant a repair at manufacturer cost if 150,000 miles/ten years. From reading online forums, I am not the only one to "just" miss the failure and manufacturer reimbursement. This is dangerous and should be addressed no matter the mileage.
Red warning :service airbag". Checked VIN on "takata recall" which says my vehicle is not involved. Came on a week ago. Goes off when I turn off car. Usually comes on within 5 to 15 minutes of starting car. No indication as to which airbag.
Engine power drops suddenly on highway or in traffic after 45mins of driving, reduced engine power, service engine, service airbag messages come on also esc message then engine stalls and moves at about 10mph from driving at anywhere between 30mph to 70mph. Recurring for the last two months can't be fixed after several chevy dealer workshop visits and costs.
The "service airbag soon" message keeps coming on. I had a diagnostic done at the dealership. They indicated that the airbag module is faulty. The car is only 7yrs old and has less than 40,000 miles on it, this should not be an issue. Since it is a manufactures faulty part I feel that they should pay for the replacement part as I do not feel safe driving this car!.
Codes: b0014, b0021 abs wiring harness light illuminating "service air bag".
Side impact airbag didn't deploy when a car smashed into the side of me . . . I was doing 30mph when I was hit on the passenger side. Police report was made even tho the airbag didn't go off. . .
Takata recall. I have a 2010 chevy Malibu that should be included into the takata recall. I just purchased this car two weeks ago and "service air bag" came on while I was driving. After further investing, gm never issue an actual recall for the 2010 chevy Malibu. Instead they created a "malibu safety program" that only includes 2010 chevy Malibu ending in the VIN numbers a4100001 a4166698 af100056 and af271265. My VIN number isn't included in this list. Therefore I have to pay out of pocket. For an issue that is out of my control.
Air bag need service.
Faulty passenger presence module , airbag warning fault light on. . The dealership recommended the replacement of the module at my own expense of $800. I feel that my family and my safety is at risk due to a faulty design that gm is aware of with its airbag components. Airbags should be working for the life of the vehicle, and if they are failing the manufacturer should replace those faulty designed parts at no expense to the owners.
For the last 5 months mac ghana located in ghana at 105 spintex road accra ghana tel: +233 (0) 302813919, has failed to properly fix the recall NHTSA recall number: 14v252 recall date: may 14, 2014 (manufacturer recall number: n130036). Also received letter in the mail stating the airbag needs to be replaced and the dealer has not replaced it.
The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu. While driving 25 mph, the brake lights illuminated without the brake pedal being depressed. In addition, the service air bag error message was displayed across the message board. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 99,200.
First repair, airbag service required. The dealership claimed it was a loose wire. 2nd repair, esc maintenance required, traction service required, engine power reduced, vehicle will not leave neutral. If gas is applied vehicle jumps and shakes. 3rd is same as 2nd and 4th visit is same as previous except when I received ownership of the vehicle it could not make it out of the parking lot. After mentioning the lemon law the dealership is now trying to blame this technically 5th visit on an ignition coil even though esc maintenance message was displayed with traction control, engine pwr reduced, the vehocle was still shakig, and now the check engine light is on when it wasn't before.
Service air bag soon alert intermittently comes on and goes off sometimes when restarting, other times after driving 15 - 20 minutes. Had stayed on for 1 1/2 hour drive but when restarting was off. Driving has been highway miles. Can come on upon starting and while driving. Dash board lighting goes off while driving, highway miles. Sometimes does not turn on until 15 minutes of highway driving then go off again later. Dial is setat brightezt point but not bright.
Service air bag info comes on. Never know when. May be connected to seat movement. Passenger seat, I think. Has did this occasionally fo 2 years. Always went off before. Now staying on. Recall on air bag service connecter in 2011 completed. Seems to have come on also while braking hard.
Shortly after getting the recall repair for the abs lighting issue in late August the "service airbag" light came on when I hit the brakes hard. After a while it went off and stayed off until a few days later when a back seat passenger closed the rear passenger door hard. It still to this day continues to go on & off, sometimes when I hit a bump, or when I 1st start the car. I called the dealer and was told our car was not under recall for the recent airbag issue and that for them to investigate the issue would require the diagnostic machine. And. . Since the warranty on the airbag was only 3yrs/36,000 miles the charge to me would be 1hrs time about $125. 00. I find this completely unacceptable and will also be filing a complaint with gm.

I was t-boned by another vehicle on the passenger side of my car and the airbag deployed on the passengers side door and hit my daughter in the face. The airbag had fibers and such on it that was imbedded in my daughters eye. She had to have surgery to get it out.
