48 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2014

I called gm and was told that my car was included on the recent recall issued may 14, however there are no parts available yet to fix. I was also made aware that this recall fix would only fix the brake lamps and that the other issues I. E cruise control, electronic stability control, and traction control are not a part this recall. I am issuing another complaint due to reading many other complaints of this same issue and that need to be addressed by gm. This is a potential dangerous issue that can cause serious injury, not to mention with the brake lamps staying illuminated and turn off when the pedal is pressed currently. There should be an immediate recall since the issues included in the recent recall will not be addressed and has made me a dissatisfied gm owner. I hope the NHTSA will further investigate complaints and pressure gm to completely fix these defects immediately.

52 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2013

Takata recall-my air bag light has been on since shortly after I purchased the vehicle in Aug. 2011. I am terrified if I am in an accident they won't deploy and myself or a passenger may be seriously injured. My son and I were coming back home from denver and my car started acting strange like it was going to die and it sure did while we were almost out of eisenhower tunnel on the west end, we were almost rear ended by an 18 wheeler! thank god he made it around us safely and no accident occurred. I am sure I reported this already shortly after it happened and never received a response in any shape or form. I was able to get the car started after about ten minutes and drove home without any further problems, was shaking like a leaf all the way. . . . My son too. I have also had problems with the car shimmering when I apply the brake at 55-60 mph and it isn't just a little its sever and doesn't stop until I get back under that speed, I am afraid of loosing control. I do want to say I am very disappointed in the car, I bought it because I believed it would be a great vehicle to own and I was proud to drive it. . . . The Chevrolet emblem meant something to me. I doubt I would ever buy another one, I would be afraid to! it is so sad that the quality of products and the pride in the manufacturing of them has taken a back seat to profit. . . . . The recalls in this country are ridiculous! can't recall specifc date as to tunnel incident, its been a few years back, the other two problems have been happening since I purchased the vehicle in 2011.

53 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/26/2013

Brake lamps intermittently flash or stay on without the brakes being applied and the cruise control disengages. The warning lights for electric stability control fault and traction control also display.

54 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2012

The rack and pinion on drivers side end rattles at slow speed. I have tried 3 different brand front brakes and all have squeaked, the transmission cooler line started leaking. The car has 69,000 on it as of now 1/26/2013. Dealer want fix any of the problem under the drive train warranty. Also has cold start engine knock.

55 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2012

Defective door latches. Both driver side front and back door problems since I purchased my 2010 Chevrolet Malibu back in 2012. Driver door would not open or not shut. Contacted gm twice and no assistance from gm. I purchased a aftermarket door latch and replaced the driver door latch in Jan 2018 and have no more problem since. Driver back door I have not been able to open since 2015 and because the back door wont open, there is no way to replace the latch. If a fire or accident happens there is no exit from drivers side back door. Without warning on a 7 year old vehicle, the transmission failed in Aug 2017 136000 miles. Expensive replacement.

56 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2011

Air bag warning light illuminates when pressing hard on brake pad and when making turns. Warning light in dash stays on the warning light may go off briefly when driving and it is required to brake hard, but illuminates again when brake is pressed. Sometimes, it comes on during normal driving without braking. Sometimes it comes on when the car is driven over a bump in the road. This malfunction makes it impossible to determine if air bags are actually engaged and will operate during a crash. The problem only increased after body control module (bcm) recall was fixed on the vehicle. It occurs every 1-2 days since the bcm was repaired. Local Chevrolet dealer has not been able to identify a problem and has not been willing to contact gm for information. Extremely concerned for passenger safety.
