The consumer stated that after picking the vehicle up for repairs, she noticed that the back seatbelts had been snapped by the body shop. When the consumer unsnapped the seatbelts, she noticed that they wouldn't retract. The consumer then called the service department and was told to bring the vehicle in the next day. The consumer was told by the mechanic that the seatbelts were worn out, which was odd because the vehicle was only a month old. The mechanic also told the consumer that the retractors are defective. The consumer feels that this vehicle is defective and is concerned with these safety issues.

Front passenger seat belts do not retract to stowwed position after use, and often do not retract after leaning forward. Seatbelt repeatedly gets wedged between door and b-pillar when closing door when exiting vehicle which causes damage to seatbelt hardware. When seatbelt occasionally fails to retract after leaning forward, it creates slack in restraint system that presents a safety hazard to the front seat driver/passenger. I have contacted the service department at the purchasing dealer and they do not show any service bulletin for this problem.
The rear seat belts fails to retract. The brake pads were replaced after purchasing vehicle in June, due to being worn out. The front left tire needs replacment due to the threads coming off.
