As a result, the contact had to pull over for a moment for the engine to cool. The engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the manifold needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

2 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, he noticed smoke coming from the engine. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they advised him that the intake manifold had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not \repaired. The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Three days after the vehicle was purchased it caught fire and was destroyed. The fire department was notified; however, the fire extinguished itself.
