Six problems related to accelerator pedal have been reported for the 1996 Chevrolet S10. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Accelerator pedal locked into postion while at 70mph on highway- was able to free pedal with some rearward prying motion with my foot. There has been 2 occurrences of this incident since I have owned this truck. Both happened on very hot days in phoenix.
Throttle locks when foot is removed from accelerator pedal, causing engine to accelerate.
The throttle on the truck sticks and causes the engine to continue to accelerate when trying to brake.
Vehicle does no decelerate when foot is removed from accelerator pedal. This has occurred since purchased new.
When foot is released from accelerator pedal vehicle resumes speed and does not slow, creating longer stopping distances.
Going into driveway consumer had foot on brakes which carried down the accelerator with brake,caused engine's fence.
