One problem related to door latch has been reported for the 1996 Chevrolet S10. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Top 3rd door latch engaged, bottom latch will not engage, possible front door could unexpectly open. Cannot open 3rd door, top latch is jammed bottom latch remains in the open position.
