Four problems related to manifold/header/muffler/tail pipe have been reported for the 1996 Chevrolet S10. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Exhaust manifold replaced.
Temperature gauge and engine check light came on. Dealer said coolant and oil intermixed in the crankshaft which was caused by a failed intake manifold gasket.
Engine: engine check light comes on and will not go off ,black smoke coming from tail pipe. Vehicel has been in shop so many times and they don't know what the problem is.
Right rear head gasket (passenger side) leaking coolant onto exhaust manifold. Started leaking at approximately 60,000 miles.
