One problem related to parking brake linkage and cable has been reported for the 1996 Chevrolet S10. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving in snowy/slushy weather, snow/slush builds up around the emergency parking cable. When it melts from the cable, it causes the emergency parking brake to activate which causes smoke to come from the rear of the vehicle. Please provide further information and VIN#.
