Accelerator Pedal problems of the 1998 Chevrolet S10

Three problems related to accelerator pedal have been reported for the 1998 Chevrolet S10. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Accelerator Pedal problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2000

While driving 45 mph the accelerator pedal fell off. Dealer repairedit. On 7 Aug 2001, pedal fell off again.

2 Accelerator Pedal problem

Failure Date: 08/22/1998

Accelerator became disconnected and the vehicle would not do anything. It rolled to a stop.

3 Accelerator Pedal problem

The gas pedal on this vehicle is extremely low, causing the shorter drivers to have to pull seat all the way forward. This is a safety issue because I am driving 5 inches from the steering wheel. I have noticed that this is a problem with the blazer as my mother owns one and we have rented several others, and all the gas pedals are about 4 inches lower than the brake pedal. This is also annoying and causes additional safety concerns because my foot frequently gets caught on the brake pedal when I shift my foot over (because the brake pedal is much higher), causing my stopping times to be longer than is safe.
