28 problems related to brake electric antilock have been reported for the 1998 Chevrolet S10. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1998 chevy blazer, brakes are slipping when coming to a complete stop, or moving under 10 mph. I understand there is a recall for gm SUV's ( NHTSA campaign number: 05v379000) and believe based on my experience the chevy blazer should be included in the recall.
Anti-lock brakes are activating unnecessarily . Gm has a recall for 1999-2002 vehicles for same problem caused by corrosion in wheel sensor. Saw the recall in newspaper. I bought this vehicle at auction. Originally was used by vermont department of transportation, apparently it has the same defect as the 1999-2002 vehicles.
The abs brakes engaged, which caused the vehicle to lose brake power.
Abs brakes this is my second time in for the brakes,my truck has 17,200 miles on it,an I took it in the first time while under warrenty an they said told me nothing was wrong,now that the warrenty has ran out,theres something wrong an I think brakes should last longer than 17,200 miles ,this will be my chevy ,this truck is junk.
I bought the truck new in 98/I don't drive much an it only has 17,100miles on it,an the brakes makes an awful noise in the front,until the I hit the brakes then it quits it only does it when its moving. The warrentie ran out sept. 1st,but I think the brakes as well as the truck should last longer than 17,100 miles. This will be my last chevy.
Consumer was traveling about 20mph on a side street and heard a noise from underneath vehicle coming from brakes. It was metal to metal noise. Dealership was aware of problem. There was an accident.

Any sharp turn at low speeds activates the abs. I. E turning into a parking space. The dealer said it was because the tires were old. The tire store says the tires are fine. I have read on the web about others having this problem too.

While driving on a sandy road consumer could step on the brake pedal, but brakes won't respond, forcing consumer to drive off the road to avoid an accident.
Abs system is working intermittently, and the steering wheel is pulling to the right. Right front brakes locked when driver then on curve, spinning vehicle to the right. Brakes were applied a second time and again they locked causing vehicle to roll over three times. Dealer can't determine the cause.

Traveling at a slow speed and depressing the brake pedal, the brakes lock up and the truck slides. This has happened twice in damp weather. Took truck to the dealer and they found nothing wrong with the truck's brakes.
Anti-lock brakes are not working. When consumer applies brakes the pedal goes all the way to the floor. The pedal is soft. Vehicle will stop five feet from the destination. Vechicle has been taken to the dealership five times.
