Fuel Delivery problems of the 2000 Chevrolet S10

While making a full stop on occasion , and then trying to accelerate, I have had no power as if it is fuel starvation. Have replaced the fuel filter which is over priced for the second time. Upon inspection of the fuel filter, a black substance seems to be blocking the fuel filter for no apparent reason. It must be coming from the fuel tank or a fuel line. After recently replacing the filter and making a quick stop and backing rapidly, I experience the same power failure. Turning off the truck and restarting seems to help momentarily.

Vehicle engine shuts off or on one occasion will not start I suspect a fuel pump or fuel delivery system intermittent fault.

The consumer drove the vehicle to the dealer and after it was inspected, the consumer was told the fuel pump and gas filter needed to be replaced. The consumer disagreed and stated the problem was the filter in the gas tank, the filter bends up so the pump sucks air instead of pumping gas. The consumer fixed the gas filter himself and the vehicle did not experience the problem again.
