One problem related to gas recirculation valve (egr valve) has been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet S10. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The inside motor within the radiator split apart and burst allowing transmission fluid and coolant to mix. Which caused a chocolate corrosive mixture that disintegrated the gears in the transmission and immediately overheated the radiator which caused the vehicle to stop on the highway.
