Three problems related to front air bag have been reported for the 2002 Chevrolet S10. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle was involved in a collision while driving at 35 mph. Vehicle was hit on the front and the passenger sides. Upon impact, none of the air bags deployed, and driver's side seat belt failed to retract. As a result, consumer hit the steering wheel and sustained a concussion. Vehicle sustained extensive damage. Manufacturer's investigator after inspecting the air bags indicated the reason that they didn't deploy was because they weren't hit right.
Car was a total loss. No airbags. Demolished beyond belief. Large amount of plastic used in making car. Very bothered by this accident, and am seeking information to see if this is something that has happened to other small pick-up trucks. Concerned for teenagers/people's safety.
While trying to slow down consumer's vehicle ran into another vehicle head-on, and none of the air bags came out.
