2 Tire problem of the 2002 Chevrolet S10

Failure Date: 08/17/2015

I bought a set of goodyear viva 2 tires at walmart. I have less than 30k miles on them. I notice they seem to always be out of balance, even when I carry my vehicle in to have the tires rotated and balanced. The other day, I had taken my vehicle in and the tech looked at one of my tires and noticed a buldge on the side of one of my tires and made a comment about the belts seperating and being ready for a blow-out. I ask if walmart was replacing them and he said no. After getting home I noticed two more tires with that same buldge on the side.

8 Tire problem of the 2000 Chevrolet S10

Failure Date: 07/08/2007

On 11/08/06 I bought 4 new tires from sears at the regency mall in jacksonville, florida. On 7/17/07 I was on the highway on my way to sears again when I changed lanes and had a blowout. At most I ran over one of the reflectors on the road lines, but the blowout was so big I would have had to run over something much larger and sharper. I would have seen it. I went back to sears and explained what had happened. They insisted that I ran over something I knew I did not. I even went back and checked the road. Shortly thereafter I developed an undetectable air leak on the side of the tire. I took the tire to a tire store. The worker told me that the tire was defective, though store management would not back his statement in writing. Time has passed long enough that if those tires were truly defective their would be a track record of this particular brand of tire. I had to replace the one tire, that had the big blowout and the other tire , the repairman was unable to fix. I put some of the liquid fix it in it and that seemed to mend it. I think they are defective. The tire information is as follows: brand: falken zirex tubeless dot v4ku-3mtr2606 pr-181-235/60r16 ze512 100h m+s u5061.

9 Tire problem of the 2004 Chevrolet S10

Failure Date: 04/08/2007

The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet s-10. While driving at 70 mph on a clear, dry day a loud noise was heard. The contact pulled off the road and noticed the driver's side rear tire was completely shredded. All that remained was a remnant of the tire and the rim. The vehicle was brought to a mechanic, valley tire, where the tires were still under warranty and replaced. The vehicle had four goodyear wrangler rts tires , size p235/75r15. The mechanic stated that the failure may have occurred because the tire was under inflated.

10 Tire problem of the 1998 Chevrolet S10

Failure Date: 10/28/2000

We had a flat tire due to a nail and took it to a local repair shop. He said he would not patch the hole because both rear tires where showing tread separation and he did not want to be responsible for an accident when the tire failed. I went to a uniroyal dealer and they would only credit me 40% of the cost of new tires. They are defective tires and I do not feel responsible to pay to have a defective product replaced. We obviously need these replaced immediately as we are traveling to florida with a trailer this Sunday and I am not sure what to do. Am I entitled to have these replaced free or not. The tire tread is in excellent condition and should not need to be replaced at this time. (tiresize: p20575r15)( dot number: tire size: p20575r15 ).

11 Tire problem of the 2000 Chevrolet S10

Failure Date: 05/01/2000

Dismissed as road hazard, the puncture's location--just below the crown--indicates to me a structural weakness in the tirewall. On another vehicle with uniroyals, the rubber on the crown was eaten away by broken glass (bottle) as if chewed by a dog. New tires should not be so soft, so incapabale of handling ordinary and common road hazards. I received no satisfaction from the dealer or the tire's rep. I was on my own and make this report to warn others that tires which cost in excess of $100 each should perform to a higher and safer standard. And not unlike the current firestone controversy, tires are made to ride softer so to compensate for the stiff rides so typical with the new muscle trucks and SUV's. Simply, this should have never happened. The tire's rubber chemistry and construction could have endangered my family's health and well being. Gner. (dot number: apuljluu35 tiresize: p205/75r15).
