Left rear brake light failure, if the multifunction switch on the steering column is held just right the brake will function periodically. Indicating an open circuit in the wiper, cruise turn signal control. Dealer say it is a 400. 00 repair. Gm says it is not covered under any recalls. Like the blazers, malibu's and olds.

2 Turn Signal Switch problem of the 2001 Chevrolet S10

Failure Date: 12/24/2001

There is a switch in vehicle on dashboard that when pressed four times will turn off day time running lights, but when pressing switch just twice all the lights in and outside of the vehicle will shut off. This happened while consumer was driving at night. Has not contacted dealer yet. The dealer informed consumer that is the design of all the new trucks.

Wire on multi function switch came loose, causing headlights to malfunction. Dealer replaced multifunction switch.
