Brake Master Cylinder problems of the 1997 Chevrolet Silverado

Four problems related to brake master cylinder have been reported for the 1997 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Master Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2009

Brake line rusted into on left rear wheel was repaired, every since this happened brake pedal is very spongy stopping power is not what it used to be or should be. I have also replaced front calipers,rotors,pads,master cylinder,powerbrake booster,rear drums, shoes,cylinders,emergency brake cable . Cannot get the air out of brake system very annoying situation and dangerous because I cannot stop truck very quickly due to spongy brakes.

2 Brake Master Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 03/17/2000

The rear wheel brake cylinders had blown their seals causing consumers to experience low brake pedal. Nlm.

3 Brake Master Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 01/26/2000

Consumers master cylinder and brake booster failed causing vehicle to loose steering and braking ability while driving and she crashed into the highway divider, as a result the air bag deployend, trapping and suffocating her. The inside of the vehicle became filled with smoke, the doors were jammed and she was unable to open the until someone came to her vehicle and opened the door from the outside. Nlm.

4 Brake Master Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 05/22/1998

Master brake cylinder failed resulting in vehicle collision with several injuries. Yh.
