One problem related to conventional parking brake has been reported for the 1998 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Whenever driving the vehicle there is a loud noise coming from the brakes and the pedal vibrates. Also, when applying the brakes the pedal goes straight to the floorboard. Sometimes the parking brake doesn't work. Consumer had the vehicle in the shop five times for repairs, and the dealer still doesn't know what the problem is. Since then dealer changed the brakes/ rear drums/front pads the rear shoes and back drums twice, and they still can't determine the problem.
