We had two 2000 year model chevolet Silverado truck we got rid of one because the gas gauge when filled up . The law fuel light comes on and it would cost alot to have fixed, I think it should be the factory's responceablity to replace this. I have talked to alot of people who has the same problem with there 2000 model chevy Silverado trucks. What can be done?.

2 Gasoline Fuel System problem

On going problem with the fuel gauge in my Silverado since new which gives inaccurate readings and now has become a very serious safety issue. I ran out of gas and my vehicle suddenly stopped as I was going through a tunnel the other day at 50 mph with a transport truck behind me! gm says its a defective sensor.

3 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/18/2004

The driver side tailgate cable broke, and the passenger side tailgate cable was hanging by some threads. Also, passenger door will not unlock, and there was a delay in acceleration. The tailgate cable was replaced with the same type that failed. The fuel gauge was not working properly. The fuel sender/ pump unit and actuator had to be replaced.

4 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/23/2004

Truck is hard to start in warmer weather. It will turn over several times before it will start or I press the accelerator to get sufficient gas to start the truck. Also. . . Since I bought this truck I have had difficulty in with the gas petal 'sticking' and it lunges before I back off the gas and accelerate normally. It's a pain and one day will get someone hurt. 5 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2004

2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The gas guage keeps going from full to empty. It does it all the time.

6 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/05/2003

Fuel gauge not working properly causing truck to stop in the middle of a four lane road this gas gauge problem has occurred in my other vehicle a 1997 monte carlo and my daughters lumina,so this is not an isolated incident. A problem of this kind could be very dangerous on an expressway.
