Two problems related to parking brake linkage and cable have been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While the vehicle was parked on a slight incline with the emergency brakes engaged vehicle has rolled backward and hit a travel trailer. Vehicle was taken to the dealer, who adjusted the emergency brakes. Within two month or less the problem has recurred again. The dealer was notified again.
While applying parking brake, cable snapped. Parking brake cable needs to be replaced.
