One problem related to cruise control has been reported for the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving, engine was running at a high throttle, causing vehicle to suddenly accelerate at a high speed. Had to use excessive force to slow vehicle down. The cruise control was in the off position. Pumping/applying brakes did not clear accelration only slowed vehicle. Stomping of accelerator 3 times released accelerator. Approximately 3 minutes later the above problem occurred again. Accelerator cleared on again by stomping accelerator. Dealer could not duplicate problem.
