Brake Light On problems of the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado

Four problems related to brake light on have been reported for the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Light On problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2013

I was approachlng a red light when I tried to stop brake pedal went to the floor, no warning light or sound . After I pumped the brake the light came on I was driving slow at the time and managed to slow downshifting and stop with the emergency brake which also went to the floor.

2 Brake Light On problem

Failure Date: 10/14/2012

I came out to veh in morning and brake warning/service brake system light was on and looks like my line from rear to front is rusted and where brake line meet to split to each rear wheel is rusted and wet w/fluid.

3 Brake Light On problem

My truck has only been in pennsylvania for 4 years after being in virginia since new. I was driving down a hill and my pedal went to the floor with the brake action light going off. Inspection of brake system found that the rear brake line had rusted through. I replaced all the brake lines and found several sections of the brake line severely corroded almost to the point of failure.

4 Brake Light On problem

Failure Date: 03/08/2012

The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that while driving down an incline, the brake pedal was applied but the pedal was depressed into the floor board abnormally. The service brake warning light illuminated on the instrument panel of the vehicle and the contact was able to coast the vehicle and park. The dealer diagnosed that the brake lines were rusted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but denied any assistance with repairs on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 57,100.
