One problem related to noises during shifting has been reported for the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
A clunk sound emanates from the driveline of my 2004 Silverado mostly when shifting from 2nd to 3rd and from 3rd to 2nd. The clunk also occurs between no acceleration and accelleration while in 2nd gear. Occasionally the noise occurs between 1st and 2nd gear. The problem began at approximately 2000 miles. It has gotten worse as I now approach 20,000 miles. I am concerned about a driveline failure or damage to driveline components due to repeated torsional impacts.
