Manual Transmission Shift Pattern Indicator problems of the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado

1 Manual Transmission Shift Pattern Indicator problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2012

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. While parked, the contact noticed that the gear indicator was extremely dim and was difficult to see which gear the vehicle was in. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostics where the mechanic advised the contact that the instrument cluster would have to be reprogrammed. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number: 05v055000 (power train:manual transmission:shift pattern indicator) but was advised by the manufacturer was that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.

2 Manual Transmission Shift Pattern Indicator problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact was driving approximately 60 mph when the gear indicator lights failed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for repairs or diagnosis. The contact stated there was a recall (NHTSA campaign id number: 05v055000-power train:manual transmission:shift pattern indicator)but the manufacturer informed the contact that his vehicle was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 72,000.
