One problem related to alternator/generator/regulator has been reported for the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Service brakelines rotted and caused a complete loss of service brakes - while driving and close to home - used emergency brakes and low gear to get to home. Spoke to friend at chevy dealer. They are having problems with this truck series due to corrosion and premature rusting. Truck is currently in garage due to failure (corrosion) of transmission cooling lines. Current mileage 15,211. Lost both anti-lock brake modules and alternator and temperature sensors.
