Submission from constituent re gm issues (full document not imaged). The consumer stated the check engine and traction control light illuminated. The #7 cylinder and head gasket were replaced. Spare tire hoist bracket broke and spare tire was swinging loosely under rear of truck. Further investigation revealed several stress cracks in bracket surrounding the bolt hole. If tire bracket would have broke off tire would drop to pavement and become a road hazard. Sources at dealer indicated they had no bulletins on this item but knew of some people who had lost their spare tires. I still have the parts.
